[totp edit] Encrypt your own in seconds with this handy program. New! the program can now also help you decrypt them, saving you the tedium of replacing letters yourself. (The plain old encryption script is still available here.)

Gopher, I was staring at your signature, trying like hell to figure out what it said.  I had gotten Futurama _vert...I was thinking - what the heck can be that first letter.  That, and I had not memorized which symbols were for periods and commas.  Finally it struck me.

You win a clue on my last cryptoquote since nobody's guessed it yet...which means I'll have to decrypt it since I forgot what quote I picked...

[edit] finished decrypting it, the clue is:

... CXXCZ? There aren't many words that match the pattern "abbac"... the only three I can think of at the moment are "teeth," "leela," and "boobs".

I tried "teeth" and "Leela" but couldn't get anywhere;  I didn't bother trying "boobs" as I can't imagine it appearing in the scripts anywhere.

I'll take a shot at it from some other angle later if nobody beats me...

Curse you! That took me FOREVER. Finally in desperation and frustration I tried "boobs" (after a long time trying "Leela" led me nowhere) and ended up getting it...
Wouldn't have been so bad but I kept fixating on that particular word. I actually replaced the O with E without thinking about it, to complete a different word.

Gopher, I suggest pages.google.com

I'm not sure if you can get an account right away, but they give you 100 megs of space with uploads of a few megs (I haven't tested it, but it did go for at least 3 megs).  You can also hotlink.  And best of all, it's free!

Praise Google!

Hmm. They're not allowing new accounts today, due to high demand. It's just the hourly download limit I'm running into on the geocities, which I only use for storing files I post on forums, not as actual web-space, so normally it's not a prob, just posted 2 300+K files at once yesterday, which was too much for my 4MB/H limit on geocities. I was just being a doofus, normally I'd put images that size on imageshack instead.

Still struggling with that quote, it's a toughie. "SDVZ" is repeated, and the pattern "a bcde bfed" seems guessable but I haven't managed to guess it yet.

[edit]
Ok, I was spending way too much time on this that is better spent learning PHP before my interview next week for that PHP programming position, so I cheated. And I just wanna say, that one was pretty evil, man.  :) I don't think I've spent as long on any of them as I did on that one without getting ANYWHERE.

Google Pages isn't a website utility, it's a single page - sort of like a myspace type thing.  I found it's only real use is hotlinking and storing images.

Edit:  Well Gopher, since you got it, cheating or not, you might as well put a new one up because I don't remember what quote I did.

Didn't see yer edit before I posted for some reason; oh well.

I cheated by modifying my word-counter program, which I used to find Bender's real top-10 most used words. Changed it so as it scanned through the scripts it searched for hyphenates, then checked the length of their elements and displayed all lines from all episodes including a word that was 4-8. There were a surprising number of matches (about 20) but a quick look-over showed only one which matched the pattern in your quote: "land-sealions." And this revealed the quote to be: "Yup. We call them land-sealions. I tame them." from Fry in The Deep South. Aside from my "Whimmy-wham-wham-wozzle!" from page 3 or 4, this was probably the hardest one we've had on here. This one will be really easy.

I'm disapointed that everyone but us seems to have gotten bored with this. I suppose people would rather just pick an episode name from a list at random.

By the way, Gopher, the link on your latest post is broken.

Edit edit:  I agree Gopher.  But to me, there is no fun in guessing some random episode or character from a vague clue.  Plus, with all the worrying they put into conserving bandwith on PEEL, this game should be a godsend.

Edit edit edit:  Here's a hint since no one (Gopher) has gotten it yet.

Well, it's overdue for a hint now. Lemme try and remember what it WAS and I'll edit & add one. I remember that the "MAF" in "G-MAF-T" was a number written out, but not which number. One or two. For the life of me I can't think of anything matching "QWQ" at the moment either. Solving.... ah! got it.

hey, now, that was already payback for your last one. If we get into a vicious cycle of vengence we'll just guarantee nobody else gets involved (well, except maybe Leandro if he comes back and notices they've gotten harder)

[edit]
Was actually not that bad, guessed the name and then recognized the pattern.  :)

This one's a bit longer, but as we've discussed before in the thread longer is often easier.
