now i know that it was probalby intended as a joke, but i would like to point out that in "the titanic" in season 1, amys parents set her up with kif. BUT in season 3, where the buggalo roam, they have imediat dislike of him. WHAT??? so sue me if its just a joke, which it probalby is

Eh... maybe because he wasn't giving them any grandchildren after a while, which is all Amy's mom seems to care about.

Yah,I've often wondered too why they set her up with Kif but they don't like him now.But when audioslave said that, well it makes sense.  ;)

When they first introduced Kif to Amy i don't think they really saw him. All they saw was his captain's badge. With the badge he's worthy as a mate. Without it he's not.

Amy's parent's loved kip in/after A flight to remember because he was the captain of a big spaceship - meaning that he was in a higher position.

After that however he was nothing more than a little squishy green guy. Nothing worth their daughter.  ;)

Have a look into this closed one and this thread.

i agree with Venus.  In Where the Buggalo Roam one of Amy's parents says that they are 'finally going to meet this Mr. Kiff'.  I dont think they even knew there was a body attached to the captain's badge they tried to hook up with Amy.

Hi

When I was going to college, my parents said I should quit and get a job.

When I left school for a good job, they said I should quit and go back to school.

When the good job sent me back to college, so I was BOTH working AND going to school, they said I should quit BOTH and move back in with them.

Some parents are just NEVER satisifed.

Hi

The question was about parents.  Great art reflect real life and I happened to have some have real life experience with parents.

The REAL reason Amy's parents didn't much like Kif is because the writer WROTE them like that.

Maybe Groening had real life experience with parents, too.

...right. But the question was why did Leo and Inez like Kif in "A Flight to Remember" but not in "Where the Buggalo Roam"?

Come to think of it, anyone else find it kind of odd that we never saw Kif's parents?  I mean, I doubt they'd play much of a role in the series if they did appear, but you'd think they'd at least show up when Kif got pregnant....
