I love Futurama, who doesn't, but why doesn't England take it seriously?
America are currently on Season 4, England is currently on Season 2 Ep 15 (i think). There is no way we are on Season 3 yet! Channel 4, get your act together, take Futurama seriously, give it a FIXED time slot, give it regulary and keep up with America!!!
P.S. This is about normal T.V., not Sky, Cable, Digital, Satellite...

We already have many threads simular to this, but I agree with you. I gave up and got Sky digital so I'm fixed, well almost because there still is no date for season 4

The problem is that England is behind on everything, consoles, games, Malcom ITM, Simpsons and of course, Futurama! Why cant anyone spot a good program when it is smack bang infront of them!

Welcome to PEEL aslate, it does rather suck, some programmes seem to take longer to get here than others, some episodes of Babylon 5 were shown here before the US, other series are years behind  :(

Hey aslate, one thing that might upset you is that channel 4 probably won't show season 3 until March 2003, well thats what they said anyway. Even when they do it will be cut to shreds.

Thanks for the welcome, why are we so late though, i mean there is plenty of crap and plenty of repeats on that could be shifted. BBC2, if your listening, take out 1 Friday Simpsons slot, add 1 Friday Futurama slot!

Man, that really does suck. I guess the only thing good about the U.K. is that you got the DVDs before us. And when you say 15th episode, do you mean to air or 2ACV15, "The Problem with Popplers"?

Err, i'm just checking, i meant the one that was shown 15th, which is 2ACV10, "A Clone of my Own", i thought it was an end of Season cliff hanger, with the Prof.s clone as a new character or not, surely Channel 4 could have finished the season! Thats why BBC2 should do it, they have no Ads too!

Channel 4 showed up to "Bender gets made", I know this because I had standard TV until they decided not to show any more so I then got Sky. In fairness, Futurama got stopped on channel 4 on September 11th when "Problem with Popplers" and "Mothers Day" were due to air. Soon after that they were due to Show AOI 1 but didn't due to depictions of New York being smashed up.

Theres no excuse for them not to have shown them by now though.

Ok, i was a bit off, and i didn't really look at the T.V. guide to check if Futurama was meant to be on that day. I still think though that BBC2 should show Futurama from now on, No ads and they could easily get it to work, same length and style as the Simpsons, they should easily be able to do it!

Just a small point but this applies to the whole of the UK as well, not just England, i.e. Northern Ireland, Wales AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SCOTLAND, ya bass

There now I got that off my manly scots chest I dont have to kill those people who think that every one from the UK is English.

BBC 2 should show Futurama - I also think though that they wouldn't cut it half as much as C4 do but then on the BBC if something like Snooker comes along you can kiss good bye to regular programing.  :(
What got me was when September 11 changed everything - they stopped showing two Futuramas depicting New New York and replaced them with one old Futurama depicting New New York and an episode of Friends where every second scenery shot featured the Twin Towers. Crazy.
But that meant that they showed The Series Has Landed which I hadn't seen before and the editors seem to let it get away with a hell of a lot more than they did for series 2 episodes.
I don't know...

Lets face it the only way any of us especially us Brits are going to be happy is if these channels realised that although Futurama has not the same audiences as the Simpsons it is still a brillient show, far better than the new Simpsons which are just weird, they should give credit where credit is due.

Well at least you have seen all of season 2, we Brits havent finished it and the repeats were only a few to fill an empty slot in the mornings that was on during half-term!

Yeah well I think that everybody in the whole world earn equally good rights when it comes to Futurama (although I live in Norway and have no reason to complain). I sympathies to you people. GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!!

What was it a John Cleese character from Monty Python once said?
Something like...
"I did really want to be in the scheduling department but unfortunately there, I've got a degree, so..."

That was a snide comment at the bad treatment BBC were giving Monty Python at the time, put into a part of one of the "Spanish Inquisition" sketches.

Quite an appropriate quote right now!  :p

About it going to BBC. It won't for a while. Ch4 seem to mock Futurama, because they bought the rights to season 3, but they are not going to show it for years. Why buy it?

I know someone started a thread like this before but we should all ring Ch4 and demand FUTURAMA. Only I don't have the number.

Hey, the beginning episode of Season 13 were bad because Mike Scully was directing them. Now that Al Jean is the director, I'm sure if all of his episodes are as good or better than "She of Little Faith", it'll be a great season. But Futurama's two episode of Season 4 so far are great. Oh no, I've rambled off topic.

When hell freezes over or until they get bored with the new Trek series.
