Well, yes that was the point of the commericial in FS, to spoof the original from the 1980s...

Neither link works for me... But I wanna see the ad... When they said on the commentary that it was a parody of a famous ad I wondered if it would be onthe internet somewhere but I never actually went to look for it. So... can you get another link, or do I just have to deal with it?

It had to have aired more than once, because I remember seeing it. And I sure wasn't watchin' the Superbowl.

So I dont think that is possible It may not have been the most successful ad, but I think that it's one of the most instantly recognizable ones.

If it was not for its Futurama reference then I would not have payed any particular attention to it. You already said you didn't even exist when it first aired (and neither did I, so for the record I'm not trying to be pretentious here). It may not seem all that memorable now, especcially with how extreme and ridiculous commercials have gotten, but at the time it was really unique and got people talking the way the most carefully created Super Bowl ads do now. Also, remember that this was in a different time and context, when it seemed more possible for a company with a new machine to become really successful. Thanks to Bill Gates, that's no longer the case in 2005.
