I am curious to see how many people here went out and bought the Futurama DVDs.  They are pretty pricey, so I won't get down on ya if you don't own any.  As for me, I own all Volumes 1-4.  I'd feel incomplete w/o my choice of episodes whenever I want.  So yeah, feel free to write which ones you have, if the money was worth it, etc.

I don't really understand why anyone would only buy one or two of the seasons. They aren't terribly expensive right now, and there's no significant drop in quality from season to season... which is why I think this question's a little redundant. They're either own them all, intend to own them all, or unable to afford any.

Probably.

EDIT: Oh! Right! Question! I have them all. Yeah.

*Nasty Pasty's post pretty much says what I wanted to say.*

Also, not to sound all bossy or whatever, but I'm pretty sure this belongs in the <PE Stockroom> forum.

I bought each one the day they were released and then had a directors commentary marathon.

I actually thank [as] for reintroducing me to Futurama. (I think it's been about one year since I saw the episode that reintroducded me, "I, Roommate".)
Thank you [adult swim]!

Who here doesn't own these things?  Whoever they are, I saw we find them.  Find them, and kill them.

Every one of them I either pre-ordered online or bought on release day (slight exception on Volume Two, in that something happened with my preorder, and I ended up cancelling the order and buying the set in stores two or three days after release).  In each case I did commentary marathons first, since I'd seen every episode already anyway.

I only own the first season. I didn't see the point in getting 3 & 4 as the episode are being shown on Channel 4 anyway. It was a toss up between 1 & 2, so I went with 1 because it won't be shown for a while. I didn't have the money for both. I'm working on it though!

All 4 seasons. Bought Season 4 around Christmas 2004.

TBS reintroduced me to Futurama. Summer 2003--The Deep South.

I don't own any. I watch my futurama from my subscribed digital TV. I missed roughly 25 percent of each season; I am still waiting for it to come back. It is not I can't afford it; just that it is cheaper to record them on my blank DVDs and watch them on my own time than to buy them. DVDs here cost more than over there in the U.S. Maybe it's because it's not a local product. Or maybe as the European market have a lot of different languages and translation is necessary (compulsory in France not sure about other countries in EU), and some of the cost go to the translators.

It's probably compulsory only in france being that they're snobbish like that.(stupid French think they're better than evryone else. third rate former superpower.)
It might be worth the trip across the channel to get the english language version.
Sorry if I'm anti-france, Every Frenchman I've ever met has acted like they were better than everyone else: True to stereotype.
Anywho, I have all 4 sets, all the glorious episodes. It sucks there won't be anymore.

Yes I have heard plenty of complaints from other Caucasians about French not wanting to speak English and am rude and proud. The only Caucasians I haven’t heard complaining about the French are from countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy.

That of course makes no sense why the rest of the other countries wants to join the EU in the first place anyway, unless it’s just the internet and in real life the results are different.

According to what I know they don’t speak English is because they think English is not the centre of the world. Also as the French language is similar to English the brains get lazy. Moreover they say that English mother tongue people never made the effort to speak French either.

I am Asian and majority of the Asians out there are very willing and eager to learn the English language because most Asian countries are poor. Some Asian countries are not really classified as poor but not as high standard as Western Countries. Besides Japan I heard they don’t really make the effort to speak English to foreigners neither from a Singaporean who went there for vacation, the rest of us do make the big effort to learn English is because we believe English is the language of science and technology.

It is a fact that French speakers are of quite a high number around the world not counting Chinese because Chinese has the world’s largest population or English as it is a world language.

So say, take the Scandinavians for example. They mostly speak English well. According to the French’s explanation is because their population is very small and so the people who speak their language are of small populations. Unlike French speakers they need to learn English to get around.

Besides France, Geneva in Switzerland, Monaco, Belgium (French side)…and other French speaking areas all are relatively wealthy and advance in technology. I know in Belgium the Dutch side is wealthier, but I am saying in comparison to the world. Maybe that’s why they are proud.

Now, I don’t have clashes/problems with English speakers or French speakers. I know about your differences, but personally as I am Asian I agree learning English is important for it is the language of science and technology, but at the same time I don’t doubt the French standards either.

I am sorry you have not met any nice people that are French or French speakers, hence your dislike of French mother tongue people. Conversely in my personal experience I did not receive bad treatment from them so I don’t think so.

Oh by the way, any series/movies that the original language is in English, the DVDs are available in both the translated version and the original over here. The only exception I can think of is Manga/Anime whatever you like to call it, because there is not much Japanese living in France in comparison to British/Americans, so according to marketing research it is no necessary to have them.

EDIT: Mr Mint always says to me, you should be happy over here there are English available programmes for you to watch, if I go overseas to live is there much French programmes out there for me to watch?
