unsure if this has been noticed by anyone yet, and have searched for it, but in a recent Weekly World News leela was mentioned in a sexiest cartoon characters list.

Also, in an older issue, they did an article about a cyclops who got married, and the groom said that he had always had a crush on Leela, so in a way, he was living out a fantasy.

It's not a fake newspaper.  It's a real-print version of "The Onion" with less political savvy.  Some of their headlines are way too silly to be anything but deliberate jokes....

Well In English media THE LOOOVE FUTURAMA! In the daily mail they could it one of the best sci fi programs ever and 4/5 but 3/5 this week because they were showing a Leela of her Own noticibaly understandable!
