Wasn't Matt's master plan to build a Futurama-esque theme park if the show really took off?

By the way, I still don't believe the rumors at all.

Fox would probably rather build O'Rielly Land.

Bill O'Reilly is probably the greatest news castor of our generation.  Much respect and appreciation he is of deserving.

At any rate, Futurama is obviously coming back.

Family Guy seems better with Futurama next to it...and that could be arranged. Look, there's an empty slot right after Family Guy!

Aren't they filling that spot with that piece of vomit "American Dad"?  Oooh, maybe that's their plan ... put the worst possible show in, to scare off viewers, so they can put Futurama in, and have an excuse to cancel it again?

Sorry, being cynical ... I'm feeling kinda jaded at the moment.  But I still loath with the fiery intensity of ten billion suns that which is American Dad.

Reasonable Answer: Matt was pissed of his face and is a bit gay, he was trying to pull this guy and realizes he's a Futurama fan so he says, and I quote; "The Futurama Movie scripts are in my hotel room..." How did you miss this obvious fact.

Also the reason Cohen and West are out of the loop is because Fry dies at the beginning of the first movie and Matt really hates Cohen and has cut him out of his life.

Hey IC your right. There is nothing worth watching after Family Guy.  :D

But I still think that Fox should play their Animation domination like this :
1- Simpsons
2- Futurama
3- Family Guy
4- American Dad

But we all know that American Dad will not survive past season one.  :laff:   :p   :laff:

Not if he was still working on them. I believe Chris Carter wrote part of the X-Files movie in a hotel. And i remember in a Futurama commentary one of the writers said he wrote one of the scripts while in a plane. If the scripts aren't finalized it's conceivable that he would have them with him at the hotel.

But why would he just go about carrying the scripts with him everywhere? I wouldn't think he would do that, being that they are somewhat valuable, as a part of his work after all... I would think he would want to keep them a little more secure, but I suppose you'd have to actually know him to be sure.

They could very well have been secure. High End hotels often have safes in the rooms. He could store them while he was out and then work on them when he got back.

To the main point of the thread;

I don't usually believe any arbitrary rumor about Futurama's return, but...

Just in case* I think I'll be firing a friendly e-mail off to F*x...

* Just in case the 1 in 10e85 chance that it'll help get the show back...

I'm assuming that you know something that the rest of us don't know.

Two DVD movies would be great, but I'm highly skeptical.

I know some stuff you don't know.... but I'm not at liberty to reveal anything.  At any rate... a Futurama DVD movie being made, would be Futurama coming back.  When we said Futurama was coming back, we didn't specify in what form.

No, in other words 10^85 or in other words 10 and 85 zeros at the end.

In a related note, I do hope that this is true ,but I still have my doubts. I still won't get my hopes up intill I see some proof.

*Sigh*

No, no. It's...

You weren't paying attention when they covered scientific notation in math class, were you?   ;)

It's shorthand for writing approximations for very large (or very small) numbers.
Take the following examples:
A million= 1,000,000 or 1e6
2.3 Million is 2.3e6
A billion= 1,000,000,000 or 1e9
3.4 Billion is 3.4e9
A trillion is 1,000,000,000,000 or 1e12
5.6 Trillion is 5.6e12

Comprende'?

<WARNING: Sarcasm follows*>

*CONGRATULATIONS!*

You're now a graduate of SpaceCase' school of abbreviating really big numbers!  :D

I want to send an email to Fox but i'm not sure what to say in it. How is - Let me say that as a fan of Futurama, I would whole heartedly support the idea of bringing back Futurama in any form. Whether it be a movie or new episodes or any other ideas you have up your sleeves. If you are thinking of making a movie please reply letting me know. Thank you.
Would that be an appropriate email???

I don't think it's extremely critical what the emails say exactly, just for a lot of people to show support in one way or the other. I probably wouldn't bother asking for a reply, since people at FOX aren't gonna be like "Oh yeah, stranger!  We're working on the secret project right now!  Just don't tell anyone."

I hope we hear something from Billy West or DXC soon.  Even if they just deny any of these rumors's validity, I just want to know for sure at this point.  And having people here and at RDS saying mysterious things about how they aren't able to give information leaves me even more curious.  How much longer will be left wondering, cruel people?   ;)

I'm sorry for the ambiguous nature of the discussion at hand, but nothing can really be said about this because it all hasn't been set in stone yet.  Just wait a little, you'll get what you were looking for  ;)

With The Simpsons just ending their season, there's an open timeslot there. If FOX really wants to continue this Animation Domination thing on Sundays, then it would be a perfect opportunity to show re-runs of Futurama, and see what happens. (Especially with May sweeps.) Unless, of course, they decide to show re-runs of The Simpsons, Family Guy, or American Dad. Unforunately, I think it's more likely that FOX will do that instead of bringing back Futurama. In any case, we'll see in about two weeks, since "Star Wars, Episode II: Attack Of The Clones" is airing on the 22nd.
Oh yeah, and if future episodes of American Dad are just like the recent episode, that show could be a hit.
