Humanoid basically means that something (or someone) resembles the shape of a human being, but is not a human being. (A good example of this is Leela. She's a mutant, yet she resembles the shape of a human. So she's humanoid.)

As stated by Dictionary.com, humanoid means "Having human characteristics or form". Which, last time I checked, people generally do.
