I went on the No Homers Club and saw this: Futurama Resurrected on the Third Year (Saturday, April 2, 2005)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) In 2003, the popular cult animated-comedy Futurama was cancelled due to poor ratings. However, after the cancellation many fans cried foul, claiming that Futurama wasn't given a fair shot due to its poor timeslot and constant preemptions.
Despite virtually no mention from FOX or any of its subsidiaries that Futurama could be revived, David X. Cohen (executive producer) made a press release earlier this evening that he and Matt Groening (executive producer) had been commissioned to produce 13 new episodes, which could air as early as January 2006.
"They've put an order for 13 new scripts, 6 of which are complete. I'm just overwhelmed right now. It literally happened over night. Matt and I had been discussing the possibility of a return and ways to convince FOX, but before we could even make a move one of the executives called Matt up and said, 'So how about 13 more episodes of Futurama?' Just like that."
According to an AP insider at FOX, tentative script titles include "Space Pilot 3001", "Married...With Mutants", "Black Hole Inc.", and "Amy the Brannigan".
Futurama sold average in the DVD department, although unlike most TV-to-DVD titles, it has sold a steady amount of each set over time. Cohen comments:
"Well we didn't sell 10 million copies, but we've sold a steady amount over time, which I think is what caught FOX's eye. We have a dedicated fanbase, and I'm very thankful for that."
According to Cohen, the rest of the Futurama crew is ecstatic.
"Billy [West], Kate [Segal], and John [DiMaggio] have all signed on. I called Kate up the other day and said, 'Guess what's coming back', and she just screamed right into the phone before I even finished."
We also got a chance to discuss Futurama's past with Cohen.
"My favorite episode would have to be 'A Taste of Freedom'. Just such a hilarious episode, and with a nice, straight-forward message. Also it features my favorite character - Zoidberg."
Dr. John Zoidberg is a favorite among the most dedicated fans, mostly due to his quirky nature and innocence.
"Let's just hope FOX can choose one time spot for Futurama this time around, and stick with it."
Is this true? Or is it just an April fools joke? (It's a bit late if it is)

Oh...your...god! This has to be true! I mean "Space Pilot 3001", "Married...With Mutants", "Black Hole Inc.", and "Amy the Brannigan", those sound like either real things or they are just using word play on things in episodes (Ex. Space Pilot 3000, A Bicyclops Built for Two, Brannigan, Begin Again), but if this is real, we are all happy. I literally cried when I read this!

It is? Oh, Damn it! I was getting really excited! But how do you know for sure? 1. The 2nd of April. It doesn't get any more obvious than that. If you really think there needs to be any more: 2. 'A Taste Of Freedom' isn't his favourite episode, as far as I can tell. I'm fairly sure his favourite is 'Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love'. I don't think he's even said anything like that. (I haven't listened to the commentaries or looked up Futurama news in a while, so I could be wrong) 3. The way the DXC quotes were written, it doesn't really sound like him. EDIT: Oh, and sorry about your name.

I went on the No Homers Club and saw this: Futurama Resurrected on the Third Year (Saturday, April 2, 2005)
It could be April 2, 2005 where that was posted/where the story was posted. It does say Los Angeles later on, but the person could be writing this for a place where the date is the 2nd. And if it were a prank, why would they be so open with something like that? They would trick more people by putting April 1st instead of the 2nd. But other than that, the hoax idea is seeming more real.

Well, two ways I'll see we'll find out if it is real or hoax: #1- One of the sites(perhaps CGEF)will tell us which it is. #2- Adult Swim.
Englanders, Germans, and other European PEELers, watch Adult Swim tonight, and tell us if there is an update of any sort on Futurama.

I don't know how to provide a link but just type in "No Homers Club" into Google and it's the second or third link down. It's "No Homers Club - Powered by V Bulleton" Or something like that. It's a Message Board.

Well, excuse my "French" in this post. That Malachy is a fucking jerk. I got my fucking hopes up for this shit and I find out that that bitchy bastard posted a lame-ass post on fucking No Homers Club to get all of us fanboys/fangirls to jump on our fucking feet shouting out our joys. He should go to fucking hell and burn in shit. Sorry about that. In other news, I haven't gotten a reply from DXC about the email I sent. On another note, concerning the new DVD, the new release date is August 23, 2005 for the US. For more info, go to CGEF.
