I'd say continue to the 7th season. It would be nice to have 2 more seasons...

I have a feeling that even if it lasted longer, things would not improve much at FOX. I couldnt see it lasting more than one or two more seasons afterward.

It will be cool if they make an animated movie version of it, like using computer multimedia graphic style (I think that's what they are called).

I would have to agree with ooy and Jicannon, it would of ended at 7th season. But, I'm happy with how long it lasted it had a great ending.

Well, I wouldn't want it to go on so long that the quality would be reduced, but as Matt said once in an interview, Futurama's a sci-fi show, and as such, there are a lot of hidden secrets imbedded that would take a long time to uncover. It might be that Futurama had a scheduled ending that it just didn't get to meet. Also, I'm too broke to but very many more DVDs. (But I would give up food for a week for Futurama to continue!!)

Wow. That's a pretty long time to give up food. Maybe if you sent that to Fox and said you'd do it, we might get a good reply to our want.

Anyway, I voted for the 7th PRODUCTION Season. That means about 3 more broadcast season of about 60 more episodes of Futurama. And for me, 60 is just fine.

On a more off topic note, Family Guy will have 22 episodes in its new season, which would tie it with Futurama with amount of episodes made. I don't want Family Guy to have more episodes than Futurama in the all time count.

I can last without food for 24 hours maximum. (This I don't mean how long I can go without food before dying).  :p

I hate it that Family Guy is getting all this publicity when it's Futurama that really needs it. Jeez. Anywho, a hunger strike probably wouldn't work against Fox, even if it was televised. (You'd most likely end up starving to death...) Also, I can't go much more than 12 hours w/o eating, and then I'm REALLY hungry. So, I don't think I could handle it, anyway.  :nono:

i think the only reason people like family guy more is because it's dumbed down... futurama just has too many subtle sciency/math jokes for common folk to understand?

I think it would have lasted one more seasons. I was incredibly surprised (and grateful) that it got as far as it did as it is. I would have liked for it to last a few more seasons, until just before the quality of the show began to drop.

I agree with j_ohanley.  one more season and it would have been done.  I think it was just to "far out" for people to really even think about watching it.  their mistake.

Yes, PEEL would be some sort of conglomerate multi-country message board. I wouldn't remember half the people and it would be very, very large.

What?!!! Futurama and Family Guy are just as stupid... anyone who doesnt get 90% of the jokes in both should be prosicuted to the fullest extent of the law!!!

What Futurama needed was time to build an audience. I mean it's not until now that I can mention Futurama to randome people (ages 14-29 aproximetly) and they can name the characters and say things like: "That bender shure is a lovable rascle!" or "That Proffesor guy shure is ... old..." and maybe even a "man, that Zapp dude can really sweet talk his way in to a womans... restraining order." It's not until now when people are starting to watch the show and apreciate it. I remember when it first came out, people were all like "That's just a cheap rip off of the simpsons and the jetsons... and maybe even ... scooby doo" or "It's not as funny as the simpson or as sexified."

ok...so maybe I did make all those coments up but people sayed stuff like that... and my point is... my point is... well maybe I dont have a point but it's my rite as an american!

I'm in the teenager group, and when I go to school and mention Futurama, people know it, but not like me. Futurama has a backing, from sci-fi fans to Simpsons fans to Family Guy fans to just plan and simple Futurama fans. If it were to come back, it would be big.

How annoying is that? to all the people who were fans of the show from the start.  The show didn't really even change that much from the first season.  And I admit that I was not super impressed with the pilot when I first saw it, but you give it a chance.  You see the potential, which is a lot in the case of Futurama.
What's up with that??  Why now? When it is too late?

Actually, it was initially on at about 7:30 here (at least for the first two seasons). It wasn't until later that it was shifted (or perhaps that should be 'shafted') to a later time slot.

Fox needs to give up the rights and let new episodes air on adult swim. That way when it blows up and ends up bigger than Family Guy, OR that awful piece of crap that took Futurama's place in the animation line up(American Dad) They can look like jackasses for being the reason it never got the exposure or constant time slot it needed. Those Fox executives need to be thrown in a Fryhole.

7th season seems to be the cut-off point for a lot of tv series, after that the shows usually go down in quality. Futurama could have easily made it to seven seasons with it's quality intact, and possibly even longer - the crazy futuristic setting provides an unlimited scope for writing.

Who knows, maybe it will make it to season 7.
