Nothing major, but on the new DVD set(I'm pretty sure it was the Bin Laden episode), Trey and Matt are talking about how the episode was up for an emmy, but then they go "Yeah, but we lost...probably to Samurai Jack...or Futurama or...something."

Just felt like noting it.

It was probably Samurai Jack, 'cause I seem to remember Futurama losing to that a while back. South Park was probably nominated at the same time and so, it lost to the same thing we did. *sigh*

Futurama's "The Sting" lost the Outstanding Animated Program Under 30 Minutes to Samurai Jack's "The Birth of Evil" last year. South Park wasnt nominated, despite the awesomeness that was "Fun Times with Weapons."

*quick google search*
What Matt and Trey were probably referring to was the 2002 Emmy Awards:
South Park's "Osama bin Laden has Farty Pants" lost to Futurama's "Roswell That Ends Well" in the same category.  The one Emmy that Futurama actually won out of (I think) four nominations, in fact.

Why is it Futurama never wins anything?  I'm happy for South Park winning some awards, why not Futurama?

Futurama and South Park are the best adult oriented cartoons ever made!  Both should win awards!  I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately, I've been sick.

Well, least they remembered one of our moments of greatness. Too bad FOX didn't.

Ah, Futurama wins so few awards, I automatically expected it to be Samurai Jack. We actually won the one they were talking about. Yay. Kudos to us.

Its the opposite, man.  Futurama has won a few things, while South Park has never won anything for the most part (aside from a "Cable Ace Award" or something I think....that award went away after that year).

I do agree that SP deserves awards though.  Not as much as Futurama, but now that Futurama's off the air maybe we can see SP winning something.

I was gonna say didnt Futurama win an emmy for an episode....where Fry becomes his own Grandfather in Roswell,New Mexico...when he accidently kills his grandfather then sleeps with his grandmother this becoming his own grandfather...confusing isnt it...but funny.

I still cant believe that it did win the award. But I think that futurama deserves alot more nominations than 4!!!

Too true. News from CGEF suggests that when the family guy craze goes down in a couple of months then it's probably time for Futurama to bask in the limelight (what with the upcoming release of the new DVD and all). A shred of hope admittedly, but a shred nonetheless.

Actually, if you're in Europe, the DVD will come out in early May. But, for Region 1'ers, it looks like we're gonna have to wait.
Question: Is Canada in Region 1 or 2?

4 nominations is very good for a show that was only on the air for 5 seasons anyway.

Region 1, I believe. I'm pretty sure Region 1 is all of North America. Which sucks for us, because we're stuck without a new Futurama DVD, and I just know that there'll be a lot of inside jokes that only people from the UK will get. Until we get the DVD, that is. Craters. Someone will hafta post up an audio commentary script...or something.
