It's good to see Matt & DXC making progress. Now, we have to help this along. Get your friends to buuy the DVDs. If they're cheap, wait a month and buy them the DVDs for Christmas. If you know anyone in a Nielsen survey, make them watch the show every night. Sending e-mails to FOX Broadcasting couldn't hurt, nor could anchovies. Seriously.
I've got my hopes up, but fortunately I'm one of those people who isn't devastated every time this happens. If it falls through, I come back and try another day *looks at everyone who signed up in 2003 or earlier*. i agree. watch the show every night, make your friends watch the show every night, buy the DVDs and merchandise, make your friends buy the DVDs and merchandise... all FOX understands is money. And reality shows.

Here's something noone has mentioned on that show's return, what makes you think it will succeed now? I mean it got cancelled twice on FOX, because they put it up against "Friends" and "Survivior", also it didn't help that they never ran any promo's for the show.
Same thing goes for Futurama, if FOX does ultimately bring it back, why should I think FOX would actually start advertising it, or give it a solid schedule that doesn't change?
The main difference is that they're arguably putting more muscle behind "Family Guy" this time (and there's more inherit muscle thanks to the huge cult fanbase its has acquired in the last couple years). Given the dvd sales and cable rerun ratings, they're definitely going to be looking at it in a different light and putting more attention and thought into it. There's still certainly some valid question about how Family Guy will do upon its return (if its worth anything the marathons a few months ago apparently had good ratings), but I think its chances are generally very good. Whether the same would happen with Futurama, I'm not sure. But I think if Family Guy had a huge return, and Futurama was actually ressurected, there'd probably be more thought behind the promotion and placement of it then before.

^Wasn't the last episode shown something like 15 months ago? That's not long at all...

If I knew my cable box had some kind of ratings machine (checks what you watch and reports that as one number to some company that calculates ratings), then I'd watch Family Guy when it comes back, and Futurama on [as]. And I honestly wouldn't care about the scheduling of Futurama, if FOX ever brought it back. I'd record the shows on VHS, and buy the DVD's when they came out. If Futurama does come back, Matt Groening & David X. Cohen would probably treat it skeptically. They'd make good episodes, but the season finale would probably have more closure than "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings". (Since when that episode was in production, they didn't know whether it would be revived or cancelled.) But I can't believe the people in those positions at FOX got there. Hell, even I could treat the shows better. Give it a good timeslot, actually advertise it, make contests for it (like The Simpsons), and they're good to go. If necessary, it doesn't have to be on the Sunday schedule. And I don't think this is a trick to get people to watch Family Guy. The only reason it is coming back is because of the huge DVD sales, so it's not really necessary to trick anyone into watching it. (Especially Futurama fans.) Although from the facts I have, and from FOX's business point of view (i.e. money-making view), I'd watch how Family Guy does. If it does well, then FOX makes money. Thus, bringing back Futurama would give them even more money. They could advertise it as a 2 1/2 hour block of fun. (Or something like that.)

Well, for those who believe in a possible return, while searching on the internet I found this review about Family Guy and Futurama returning. It was done on the 17th of this month but still. These two factors have forced producers to take a second look at the satirical Science Fiction program. According Futurama's co-creator David X. Cohen, one of the big problems with Fox was the timeslot in which the show was scheduled.
This full review can be read here To be honest it could be another rumor report...
