A couple weeks ago, Billy West did an interview on WGN radio. He talked a lot about the business and quite a bit on Futurama and a little bit on its status right now. Really interesting stuff. Here's the link  http://wgnradio.com/shows/digilio_nick/audio/index.html

Wait a minute. It's just regular audio, and they're only talking? (No video images?) Then I'll just download RealPlayer, and then download the file.
Thanks anyway Futurama Nerd.

That was great, I also loved the hope it gave me about Futurama. It almost seemed to be a pure budget problem by the way he's talking.

I never realized Billy West was 53. Espically since when he voices Fry he sounds so young.

Heh, it's ironic because they talk about Alec Baldwin being in Team America, but don't know that Maurice Lamarche did his voiceovers.

What's especcially interesing in that interview (and another I've heard) is what he says about big hollywood actors getting all the voice parts in movies just based off their names.  I think his anger is pretty justified actually.

And yeah, great interview.  It was fun to hear him do the Futurama voices again, and discuss everything about his career.

I doubt that anyone will be able to write a transcript of the interview, since it's like 30 minutes long.

Basically, they went over Billy's career, touching mainly on Ren and Stimpy, Howard Stern, and Futurama.  Billy did mention something about talks going on amongst Groening and Co. about Futurama - a shred of optimism.  I don't know if that's in addition to Matt and David's occasional lobbys to FOX or not, though.

It's well worth the time it'll take to download, though.

It would be so cool to have a voice like that. To be the person who voices such a vast number of characters, and can voice those characters whenever you want.

You know if you hear something long enough you can imulate the voices pretty easy. I'm not saying voice acting is easy, because obviously it isn't. I'm just saying after you hear something long enough you can mimic it a little bit.

This was posted on the Leela Zone;

And finally, to cap things off, there's a nice little audio interview between Futurama voice actor Billy West and DJ Nick Digilio located at the WGN Radio Website. Billy discusses his various voice-over work, Ren & Stimpy, his work with Howard Stern, his music, celebrity voice acting in recent animated movies, his upcoming Popeye 75th anniversary special, and, amongst other things, Futurama as well. Don't read too much into it, because we've all had our hopes up before in the past, but I'll give you with this final quote from him after he's asked about how Groening felt about Fox's treatment of Futurama...

"Y'know... he was frustrated, but, um... I think there's going to be something in the works because, I've talked to him. And he said that they're talking about maybe doing some new stuff at Cartoon Network. But they're probably trying to figure out who's going to pay for it"
