My own words, callously torn from another thread, but still relevent:

We've had things like this before... (The TV-Tome thing...)

Not to put a damper on your good mood, but I would sugest waiting until there's some sort of official announcement before starting the techno party. And 'according to sources' isn't exactly concrete.

Still... here's hoping...     ;)

Yeah, I too would like too see something more concrete than an Internet rumor before breaking out the 20 year malt. And there's the whole deal with how credible this website is.

Though it gives a nice feeling.  ;)

Guys, from what I hear from friends who were close to the show, this may be the closest we'll ever get to a Futurama revival. The window's open, maybe just a crack, but it's open. Write letters, send emails, fire up the petitions, command your friends to buy the dvds, pray for an Emmy win this Sunday...do what you can to make a difference. This is the flashpoint, so don't wait til tomorrow or next week.
Here's hoping, indeed...

For what it's worth, I don't thank F*X will take any action on Futurama until they see the results of the revival of Family Guy.  If that works, and if Futurama DVD sales are good, then they might seriously consider it.

A new season of Futurama episodes?

Hmmm, good news somehow, but as SJM said it already "... according to a couple of sources ..." can mean anything.
Someone could try to contact these Adam Weeks who wrote that article to ask him about his "sources", but probably we would not answer.

I've searched with Google for more articles like that, but unfortunately I've found nothing related to this news.

Edit: While we are talking about a new Futurama: What would you await of it? Will there be some (Futurama-)years between TDHAIP and NF (New Futurama)? Will Amy and Kif stay together? What about Leela and Fry? Will we learn more about "random" characters? Will there be an episode about Nixon's re-election?
What are your ideas?

Although it's been said before, I suspect that the only way to make more episodes of futurama work will be to say that TDHAIP was a dream. I think that the show should just start from where it lef off (not a few years later).

Saying TDHAIP was a dream would be corny. A year or two later would be fine, and Fry and Leela could have split up in that time so things would be back to normal again...

Of course, this is pointless speculation until things are official, and hope is hopeless until then...

Hmm...apparently posting the same thing in two different threads is legit here, so here I go.

I doubt that its as simple or as certain as the website makes it seem, but all rumors have some basis in fact.

And with regards to the TDHAIP-was-a-dream thing, I have two responses:
1.  With a writing staff as intelligent and talented as Futurama's, a Fry/Leela relationship could work without being boring
2.  Even if the writers decide to ignore it, there have been more definite shippy endings that fizzled (TWOF and TFP spring immediately to mind.)
That said, I'm pulling for option 1.  Go Fry!

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the prospect of new eps in the works. But until I see some proper evidence, I'm definately not gonna raise my hopes  :)

Closed until firmer evidence.
