I voted "very very good" because it's an absolutely superb DVD set, the picture and sound quality are very pleasing indeed. I would have gone with "invincible" if only it was in 5.1, fold out packaging, two discs and a longer documentary. Overall though they did a marvalous job and season 2 is coming soon!

I`m writing a review of the first DVD on my homepage now, and I will give it 9/10 I think....I found some spots of the DVD I did not like...at all.

No music in the navigation, and no animation in the main menu city...hello, this is FUTURAMA!  :)

I think it was a sensible choice not to animate the menu's because thats what the beggining is for, they didn't want to confuse the actual program with the menu's so they clearly made the menu's non animated.

I love the way they did the chapter selection using the animation from the program within the grabs instead of just stills. It was clear and fun, a good idea.

As for there not being music, there are some sound effects which aren't as good as music would be but it's alright.

I'm voting #2. The DVD's is a very solid product, they did a marvelous job. The audio commentaries are great, easily the best part (apart from the episodes  ;))

The cut scenes was good, I just hoped there would've been more of them. The many nice touches, like in the chapter selection menu was neat to have, and had some good injokes.

The mainselection menu was not that great, the back ground noice, while consistent with the show, was just irritating.

Storyboards and scripts for the pilot was great, and Cohens handwritten comments was very funny/good. Too bad they couldn't include that for the other episodes.

All the drawings of earlier versions of the characters was weird, but in a good way. They had some pretty far out ideas at the beginning.  :D Good thing Groenings initial ideas more or less prevailed. Particular Fry and Leela had some strange alternatives.

Overall, top quality, brilliant. Just a few irritating small bits that keeps it out of option #1.

And now I'm just waiting for the season 2 set. To be out before Xmas.

Where's the "I hate everyone who has this because I don't" option?

I'd vote for that...

Oh well, I just got the Simpsons S1 DVD, so I can have fun with that for a while.

I also thought the DVDs turned out cool. I heard somewhere that they couldn't get the rights to the theme song to use on the DVD menu screens for some reason, hence the cheesy sound effects. Anyone else get the joke on the Slurm Factory Scene Selection screen involving the bumper sticker in the alien language? Just wondering ...

It's also very pleasant that we don't have to wait for ten years for the first season to appear on a DVD, unlike some other famous Matt Groening cartoon...
