Just got my Futurama DVDs!

Well, the subject line says it all, really! I know what I'll be watching tonight...

They don't officially come out until next week, but some online retailers ship early - so anyone who gets it, say what you think of it here! (After all, I'm the only person who's been talking about it so far - time to let someone else have a turn!)

I don't know if Australia will EVER get the DVD's  and I can't even get them from other countries, because it doesn't work on my DVD player

Yes, the screens are very cool and they are better than the screens for The Simpsons Season One. On the Futurama screens they show a picture from a clssic scene during the episode which shows the background, but on The Simpsons they show the characters placed onto a plain background.

Interestingly enough, they are giving these DVDs a big advertising push on terrestrial TV here. I notice that they never did that for the Simpsions DVD set.

I think I saw the ads on Channel 4 and Sky One. They are not particulaly interesting though.

Just a heads-up that amazon.co.uk haven't shipped this today, meaning orders of it from them won't reach you until Tuesday. If you're desperate to get this (I know I am), you'll have to cancel and buy it from a shop tomorrow.

I never ordered online anyway, I never depend or trust anyone to do stuff for me because it so often ends in disapiontment, I'm glad now. I will pretend to go to College tommorow, but instead go to town and buy Futurama Season One on DVD the second the shops open

Do all shops stock them the moment they are out ? At least with video games that's hardly the case.

All the main shops, that sell videos/DVDs should have them tomorrow, I guess some smaller branches might not.

If you go into the 'Your Account' page, you can check the status of your orders. Mine says:

By:
Item Availability: 1 to be released: 28 January, 2002
Estimated Delivery: January 29 - January 29

Normally, it'll change from that to '1 in stock: shipping soon' (this usually happens around noon-3 the day before for pre-orders), and then 'I shipped on [date] via Royal Mail'. Seeing as neither of these has happened, I seriously doubt it'll get out for tomorrow. I'd have thought they'd do it for Tuesday though. Check it for yourself  .

Hmm, I can't dispute that as i never ordered from .co.uk, but at least the affiliate info of .co.uk is poorly updated over the weekends and comes in monday at 6am or so usually. Just don't cancel CGEF supported orders

I've pre-ordered a few times from .co.uk, and what I described happened every time except once, with the Simpsons season 1 set. I didn't get it the next day. There is a slim chance, but I do doubt it.

Well, it's January 28th, and my DVD set still haven't arrived.   

Okay, it's only 0036 am. Anyhoo, Blackstar.co.uk, told me they shipped my order on Friday at 8.35 am, so tomorrow.

Recieved Volumes 1,2, & 3 this weekend.  I don't have a player so i'll store them with my Cutty and open and play them at some special time in the future.

The cover of Volume 1 has Fry contemplating the Suicide Booth and Zapp seducing Leela in the background.  The screwed up the back showing a scene from "I, Roomate" with description of "Love Labour's Lost In Space" and visa-versa.

Volume 2 has Bender Holding a Beer and a Play-Bot Centerfold and other characters in the background.

Volume 3 Has Leela Holding off with her gun

The three covers do form a continuing panarama; which I find interesting.

I just got my tapes  They have the same pictures as the DVDs.

I pice of card inside says "Look out! Series two coming soon to DVD/Video" perhaps the wait won't be too long
