I love TLZ so much that I satirize it in my fanfic JX: Rise of the Jinx Revolution. I also satire other Futurama site. I hope the TLZ people get a chance to read the satire.

Hey, I like "Futurama On Drugs", no problem with that. About the layout, it's to colourful for me, specially the combination of the green background of the characters with the azure color, however, I like the images you've chosen.
You should try to create mainly a Leela layout and keep adding other characters progressively in the next days until...

Yeah. I think it'd be good if the main logo was completely Leela-centric, and the sub-logos for the different sections had other characters. It'd balance it out more, and it'd show off the fact that the website is mainly a Leela fan site, but also accepts material for other Futurama characters.

Well, now it's the "FUTURAMA COMMUNIST FRONT" which is just as bad as the FOD logo. I think that whole new layout is waaayy too tacky for a site called the Leela Zone. It needs to go back the way it was with all the pics of Leela at the top or something simmilar. Sorry, but the new slogan is almost as bad as the other one. Please change it back the way it was before or something simmilar or do the thing where there are 2 versions up at once.

I can only see two reasons for this bullshittery. They are just screwing around with it, cuz they're bored, or they've lost their marbles.

Either way. It sucks out loud. Keep it Leela oriented or just ditch it. There are better general Futurama sites out there.

So, you're just messing things around because you're bored? Does that mean that it'll go back to way it was when you're done messing around.

Guys, guys, so much hostility here. *shakes head* I agree with many others that the current layout sucks and the new motto leaves something to be desired. Drugs do more harm than good. (I realize that no one is advocating drug use, but it just doesn't fit) Steriods which make you develop muscle harm you later on. Weed makes you hungry and slow. They need something that fits the new direction. To this end I suggest "Turanga Leela - ain't nothing without her friends"

Even if the slogan isn't adopted, I realize it may not be that good of one, it still drives home a point. For all of Leela's popularity, she wouldn't be the character we know and love if she wasn't constantly being the moral side to PE and keeping her friends out of trouble.

Also, as the show is cancelled, there will be less fan material in the coming years as people grow older and interests change. Starting to focus on what the other characters bring to Leela's life helps in broadening the type of material they accept and therfore a longer life is achieved.

This site has always been one to push the limits, to defy Fox on numerous occassions, and come up with interesting sections. Leela gave them their start, but they've developed beyond a normal general site. They deserve some respect and instead people tear them a new one when something changes. That's life folks and TLZ is a prime example. If you don't like change, go bury yourself in a padded room. At least your surroundings won't change.

TLZ, I applaud you. May you live to see the sad, but eventual end and go down as a site that stood above the crowd.

Fryfan, do me a favor and see if you can say that 20 years from now. If you can, I'll change my opinion. I didn't mean to say that we'll stop caring. I'll always love Futurama and relish the writing opportunities it gave, but it won't always be the dominant interest. And like I said, see how you feel 20 years from now. Then we'll talk.

Also, I once believed as you do. However, changes in my life have led me to realize that one day I'll lose my inspiration for fics and doing stories free of charge doesn't pay the bills.

Oh I promise you in 20 years, I'll still be reading the comics, watching the DVDs and such, because I'll be getting my kids into Futurama. Of course, I plan to be a big movie actor and when I'm famous enough, I'll make myself a new network and bring Futurama back and hire Matt Groening and David X. Cohen and get them to spin-off my SpyOrama in comic form and I'll go into people's houses at night and reck up the place

(Laughs evilly)

...wait I said too much.

Spice Weasel said: "I can only see two reasons for this bullshittery. They are just screwing around with it, cuz they're bored, or they've lost their marbles."

Or have a debatable sense of humour. Last time I checked, Futurama was a comedy.

Faris said: "Yeah, either keep it Leela centered or close down the site!"

Feel free to make your own if you don't like it. Criticism and advice is fair enough, but demanding, like some spoilt child, that a site should "close down" because you don't like the direction it's going in is another.

Allen said: "TLZ, I applaud you. May you live to see the sad, but eventual end and go down as a site that stood above the crowd."

Thanks, Comrade Allen. May you be a shining beacon of hope in our fight against the capitalist pigs.

Well, now to make some Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky images for the new layout...

I like that it changes once in a while.
I prefer the newer page style to the one before that took quite a time to load (plus I like the artwork on this one) with added insanity peppers

Random suggestion: it might be a nice idea to set up an oekaki board for Futurama fan art. Or for any Futurama site, doesn't have to be TLZ

Okay, after 30 minutes looking at funny Japanese characters, I managed to push the button to create a new Oekaki Board for TLZ in www.oekakibbs.com; apparently it'll take up to a week for it to become active. It says I can customize the layout as I want (WOOOO!!!! The Futurama Communist Front Lives On!). If anyone knows a _better_ Oekaki BBS (in english) that won't take so long to accept my registration, please post it here so I can open the board there instead.

The follwoing is from my fanfic JX: Rise of the Jinx Revolution, part 3

Fry: Leela, look at this place, you are all over it.

Leela: What is this website?

Voice: I can answer that. (We learn it is Michelle.)

Michelle: (bored) Welcome, to the leela love zone. Zapp’s website dedicated to you Agent 1BDI.

Fry: Wow, did he do all of these works himself?

Michelle: Are you kidding? He just had struggling artists, who had nothing better to do with their time, to do all of these art works.

Leela: A website dedicated to me? I’m flattered, but it is sick that someone as perverted as Zapp could do such a thing. Look, he has naked pictures of me.

Fry: Yeah, he truly is a monster. (Stares with delight.)

Michelle: I’m just glad he hasn’t done one of me yet.

This is my homage to TLZ. Keep it up with the work guys.

I found a site with instructions on opening oekaki here. That may be better, it may not - I'm no expert. I've tried oekakibbs and paintbbs...there doesn't seem to be much difference between them.

Also I love the new layout. Only it sometimes quickly flicks between images on IE, doesn't seem to happen on Mozilla though.

alenacat: that 'flicking between images' that happens in IE is the only way I found to fix the problem germanfryfan told me about. You see, I want the site to be perfectly viewable by all current browsers, even if JavaScript is disabled; at first I used noscript tags to define what images the browser should show if JavaScript is disabled (and thus can't display the random pics), but IE stupidly added a few pixels of vertical space with those tags, so I had to get rid of 'em. The best way I found to avoid the problem was to put the 'default' images (army of Benders and Leela hugging Fry) in the table cell's background, and then displaying an image on top of the background with Javascript if it's enabled. So, what you're seeing is simply IE taking it's sweet time to put the image inside the cell, letting you see the background for a couple of seconds. Still, it was the simplest way to fix the problem and it works in all browsers.

fryfanSpyOrama: I hope you submit the entire Fan Fiction to one of our webmasters so it can be put up in TLZ's Fan Fiction section
