Last time I tried this thumbnail thing it didn't work properly. Take two...

Wow. It worked...

Well there we go. A nice pinup of Leela for all the fanboys and girls.  :)

Embiggen your vocabulary!

Loosely inspired by a scene in my recent fanfic, "A Different View". Shipping with a difference.    ;)

Don't ask me where these ideas come from. I just draw them.

Wow! Great perspective shot. You really got the whole foreshortening deal. Something I still fail miserably at.

Oh well.. maybe I'll learn it.. eventually.

Aaaaand now a colour version of Amy being slightly sexy. No shading; I'm lazy. I might do it later though.  :)

I'm interested because you mentioned shippers. Yes, that's shippy. You'll need to share that with our small community. The thread's easy to find.

All of it, though at the moment I'm not satisfied with how the shading has turned out so I'm starting again. From scratch.

Another scribbly sketch of people from A Different View which, if you didn't know, is my most recent fanfic.  :)

All minor characters really... but they're strangely fun to scribble out.

So, I'm not getting much feedback on A Different View, and I suspect it's because of the length of it. Would you lot be more interested if I posted it piece by piece a thread?

More scribbly:

Hey Archonix,

First the obvious--you are a damn good artist, drawing in freehand like that.

Second, I read what I think was the first version of a Different View on the TLZ, and I'll pass on to you what a wise veteran PEELer passed on to me.  To get more comments, instead of posting a link to a document put small chunks at a time (2-3 pages) into your Different View thread.  Less intimidating, allows people to read over multiple sittings instead of having to commit a large chunk of time, and gives you a chance to re-read everything and respond to feedback as you go along. Also keeps your thread 'visible' for a longer time.  In some sense these threads are just old fashioned magazine serials udpdated to the 21st century.  It's fun to be part of a writing tradition that extends back over a century.

I would also post all subsequent stories in your Different View thread, so new people won't have to search for your earlier work.

So I have no idea if you've started again from scratch, but I liked what you had written so far, since it made me think, which is something that fanfics, especially gender switch fanfics, generally do not do for me...

If I just told you here you'd run screaming in to the distance, demanding someone take your brain and scrub out the offending memory with bleach in a comical skit worthy of Monty Python...

It's Fry.

Really, it's not what you think...

Interesting. I did actually finish it off and re-write it but it seems that, like you say, most people are put off by large chunks of writing. It's confused me. I'm used to an environment where people post the entire story in one go and then read it later on. I read Kenny's Universe of Malice that way meself since that's how it was posted there, though I have to admit that one even daunted me a little.  :)

I suppose I shall have to adapt.  :) Thanks for the advice.

Do you use a blue pencil to sketch those rough versions? Is there a technical reason for that?
