i've just seen hobojobo's planet express 3dmodel so i thought i should post my on version - here it is:

i worked about 3h on it (blender 2.34)

i know its kind of poorly animated but i continued work just a few hours ago so i will present you (if everything fits) a newer version soon...

Nice job man! Some of the proportions are a bit weird, but for the most part you did really well. I really like the fact that you bothered to model part of the neighborhood as well as the building. What program and cel shader are you using? The shading looks a lot like that of the futurama game. One suggestion: maybe you should use a different anti-aliaser. Some of the lines look a bit jagged right now.

thanks, i used blender 2.34 ( http://www.blender.org ) and fireworks (which caused the jagged lines).

mhm...could you be more specific (proportions) - i would like to edit it so that it looks more like the original.

at first i wanted to show the entire neighborhood in an .avi file but then i got tired of this project. now i continued my work.

Wow, that looks great! Well done fellow German! (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Perhaps you can get the background silhouette a bit more in perspective. I think it is originally parallel to the pe-building, which means that it should be bigger an nearer on the right side of that picture.

btw. Welcome to Peel  :)

I see that you already know how to use the UBB, but if you got further questions about this message board, its slang and traditions, you'll probably find some answers in this FAQ.

Above all: Enjoy your stay here at nerd world!  :)

Ditto.  It looks better than anything I'd ever do, and it's cool that you did it in its setting.

Good idea... of course i would have to create my own background (this one is copied) but that should be easy.

I believe most german futurama sites closed but i'm not really sure about that.

back to proportions: is it my imagination or is the biggest 'mistake' the lower tower (to thin)?

Ok, for starters, the part of the building that connects the tower to the hanger should be a bit bigger. Once that's fixed, the two tanks with pipes coming out of them (on that part of the building) should also be made bigger. Then, you should make the parts of the tower that stick out a bit proportional to the rest of the tower. In other words, they should be thin at the top, but fat at the bottom. finally, the windows on the side of the hangar should be a little shorter.
sorry if I'm being a little picky, but I think that it will really make it look more acctuate if you make them.

That's a really good 3D-artwork of the Planet Express building.   :)
I like it   :)

... and again I have to mention that I think you 3D-artists are like a kind of wizzards to me.   :D

i changed the windows (new form, transparent) and increased the resolution: http://www.pr0g.net/intrasips/LEX/planetexpress.jpg
i left a few things out, because they depend on how thick/thin the tower is going to be.

Very good PX Building LEX. You've made a nice job. Like you said, is like the one that hobojobo made. You're missing the radio tower at the top of the building.

Jep - i know. Its just that i was very lazy (originally you can't see it).

I'm looking for the right font for the Planet Express 'logo' (german: schriftzug)? Any Idea?

@JavieR: No, but thanks i could use this too (its still missing). I meant the two words PLANET EXPRESS on the upper tower.

@Blender-1729: haha!! afaik even marc (admin) is german (or someone translated his email for him).

I will 'repair' (i believe i moved it into another directory) the link in a few hours, when i upload a new picture of the planet express building.

Why do you think i wrote 'haha'? I mixed up your name with blender, the programm i use to render.

But anyway, here is a new img:

click here  or here to view it in 1024x768px.

There are still many things to do (i hadn't enough time) but critics are welcomed (exept about this, because im just working on it: windows 'lower tower', ugly pipe in the right, radio tower, backgraound)!

Especially about these textures i used (and be honest it only takes a few minutes to create them so i have no problem with doing it again).

Thanks.

I could use your[/i] help: I need a few pics of PX's environment/neighborhood to model  it but i am not that kind of fan who knows where to find good ones (I had to view 3 eps to find five or six pics of the building itself)....

LEX - First of all, awesome 3d!  Establishing shots are a good way to get looks at the neighborhood around the P.E. building.  "Xmas Story" has at least one good one, and "Bendless Love" has a few good ones.  I think SP3K and "The Series has Landed" both have a few good ones too.  Stay tuned to this very post, and I'll edit it every time I notice a good shot of the neighborhood.

(edit): "Bendless Love" also has a pretty good establishing shot of Robot Arms Apartments.  You ought to make that your next model (if you didn't have other plans already).

Ah, just watched Xmas Story and i must say there is a lot of material i could use in it (it shows nearly everything).
Also thanks to Bender-1729.

But i still know nothing about the area left to the img Bender-1729 posted.
