P.S. Apologies for not replying sooner; I've been away for several weeks.

P.P.S. And now for your amusement, a couple of comments I made about fanfics back in 2003.

Gracias mucho. Oh and don't worry about replying I figured you do it eventually. Don't expect any rehauls within the next five-hundred billion years though. I think the only one that I would ever want to re-write would be The Fry Idenity. But like I said I have other non-Futurama related projects which you can find parts of one on my Deviant account.

Huh, promote my egoness much?

Oh also my opinion on fan fics when I joined in 04' well it really hasn't changed.

Cheers for the concern you two  :)
Hate to say it though, I sent you the revised first act quite some time ago and have managed one chapter since then.  :hmpf:

However if both of you would be interested in beta-reading my KOTOR fanfic as well and offering the same great general insight, I'd be delighted  :)

Aww... I'm truly sorry to hear that, though I can completely relate to the 'creative juices' drying up.

Well it's not so much creative juices drying up, I just flip-flop and channel them elsewhere as usual - for instance I've probably written 160 page + in KotOR fan-fiction. As well as dozens of fan-arts too  :p

No matter though about not knowing anything about Knights of the Old Republic (it is a Star Wars game if that helps?...Just set 3,950 odd years before the films...) - but I mean, Fred doesn't know anything about KotOR either ('cept what I've explained to him) but he's saying he's enjoying it. Besides, having someone to check the accuracies in relation to the subject is only half the need of the Beta-reader, you gave great insight into bits and pieces that just didn't add up, or in fact worked quite well, as far as the story goes.  :)

Well, thank you; glad to be of service.
But I still don't know how much help I might be checking a 'fic written for a universe I know nothing about.

I'm planning to reveal a sneak peek of my next fanfic, which I haven't a name for right now. It'll be a while before it's actually completely done, because I want it to be as good as my first one. I should have the sneak peek up within a day or two, maybe less.

@ Fred:

Understandable.  The writing thing is hard - great to start with a great premise then find out you've either gone out-of-character or painted yourself in a corner.

Still, what you're made public so far is great - I'd just like to see where the Leela arc is going - our favorite cyclops is not one for being helpless so paininting her as being depressed is very in character, and Fry not mking it for their date is sure to make her feel worse.

Good luck - hope the writers block breaks down soon...

Okay, tentative good news - this afternoon I rewrote a particular section of the story that had been giving me problems, and I think the rewrite's a whole lot better.  Plus I think I've figured out the solution to a plot hole that was bothering me.

I'm not going to set a solid deadline since it's already two months since the last one I set myself, but hopefully I'll have a complete draft of Part 5 sometime in the nearish future.

I sent "Forrest Dumps" and "Sailing A-Weight" to Futurama Madhouse.  It will take time before my stories get posted, considering the fanfics recently got fixed and there's probably a bunch of fanfics the moderators have to post, anyway.

I'll start working on "The Road to Fanzipar" as soon as my fanfics are posted of Futurama Madhouse/TLZ.

Hey, everybody.  Just wanted to say "hi" and "it's nice to be back" and yes, my computer problems seem to be solved...I'm typing this on my new (used) laptop, which is old but not nearly as old as the last one I was using, which belonged to one of my roommates anyway...but this is one mine-all-mine, and I'm totally jazzed about it. I've named it "Fry" and put Futurama wallpaper up on it and am just being silly over it in general.

So anyway...as "the update question" has been broached several times, I thought I'd just put the info here rather than egregiously bumping my fic thread just to say "no updates yet."

The long and short of it is, I have some good news, some bad news, and some more good news.

Good news: I was working on my story some while I was incommunicado.  Bad news: mostly I ended up writing stuff that happens much later in the story; so even though I wasn't lazy, the fruits of that particular labor won't be appearing soon.  Mea culpa.

The more good news is that writing that later-on stuff has clarified the middle portions more in my mind (which was why I did it, 'cause I was having a case of the "Act II blues" and had to break through it); and so, yes, I'm nearly ready to pick up where I left off.  (crosses fingers)

In other words while an update isn't immanent, it is on the foreseeable horizon.

And I also wanted to say thank you, everyone who asked...sometimes I do grumble about being pounced for updates whenever I raise my head, but it's only because I wish I could spend all my time writing and show up with gifts whenever I come by - I hate not being able to please everybody all the time, darn it!     But still, it does gratify my writer's ego that people like my stuff enough to want more, even if sometimes I act like an ungrateful grouch. So I just wanted to say "Thanks!" to you all, for being such a great bunch of people and such a pleasure to write for.   :)

Aaaaaaand....that's the news from Shinyshire, thanks for tuning in.     ;)

I've got a story online!
It's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, not Futurama sadly, and not even the one I was talking about earlier (I do mean to email that one to you SC - just that I want to alter some of it before I do, and I'm running low on time)

But feel free to read it and tell me what you think  :)

I've only read a couple paragraphs so far, Zed, but...well, I don't know why I bother asking this but you just had to make Cathar=Russian, didn't you?

I also think you put three pages of writing into the easiest boss battle of the game, but we'll see when I'm done reading.

And on an unrelated side note, I miss Layla too.

Alright, I finished.  Interesting, Zed, quality writing style, if a bit verbose (you may want to trim your author's note to give away fewer details).  A good story, and one that manages to surprise me in places despite having experienced a version of it twice already.  Your characters are pretty spot-on, though the fear among the Jedi characters toward the beginning is a bit odd.  After all, they've survived a few run-ins with the Sith before now, and they're getting all emotional even before they know they have a Lord after them.  The revelation of HK-47 is good, and I liked Bandon's extremely prolonged death.  To me, though, *spoiler*Revan*/spoiler* was never one to second guess herself that much, but maybe that's just how I played him.

Pronouns are fun

Overall, I award you 500 XP, and Nadia 1 Dark Side Point.

Here's a fanfic idea anyone can use, I am giving this idea to anyone who wants to write it.  It's called, "LrrrZilla".  The Omicrons want to take over Earth and Ndnd invents a potion that makes Lrrr grow over 30 feet tall and starts attacking New New York.  Along the way Fry and Zoidberg get captured and held against their will by LrrrZilla and it's up to The Professor, Leela, Bender, Hermes, and Amy to save the day!

Anyone wants this idea, take it.  If not, no problem.  If you want to read my fanfics, go to this website:  fanfics.org

(Fade in, starfield)
Narrator: In the tradition of sci-fi movies, this one too begins with a star-field.
(Pause)
Narrator: Even though it's completely nonessential to the story.
(Camera quickly pans down to bring Earth into view)
(Cut to)

(Exterior shot, 7นน, sunny)
(Fry and Bender walk up to the door)
(Fry leans over to read a sign on the door)
Fry: Wow... Free Klein bottle with any purchase!
Bender: Really? Let me see!
(Bender pushes Fry out of the way to read the sign)
Bender: You idiot! It says 'Inquire within'!
(Cut to)

(Interior shot, 7นน)
(Fry and Bender are perusing the shelves)
Fry: Hey, Bender take a look at this! It's a Mobius strip no-wear belt drive, with warranty!
(Bender walks over, interested)
Bender: Really?
(Pause)
Bender: You idiot! It says 'See other side for details'!
(Cut to)

(A splash screen which says ''The One Where Everyone Stumbles Across Finding Ms. Amy Wong As Opposed To Searching', also known as 'The One With the Evil Parallel Universe Part II'. Coming to a thread near you. Soon.')
Narrator: And to think that the puns in this trailer only involved three-dimensional topology...
(End of trailer)
