Thank you Gorky. But I double checked what I sent you and I only asked for a recommendation not for you to help (But there was a thought in my mind that was hoping). But I'm glad that you're willing to do it.

Now I totally agree with the comedy. This needs to have the funny to lighten up the drama. I have no problem inserting jokes in there. And I'll try and work out the war plot so there's not that much pressure on you.

Anyway, I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. And don't be afraid to answer honestly. Did you have a specific mindset for what exactly the alien race would, you know, be? Because I sort of took it upon myself to write a page for this story of yours (not to undermine your authority over the whole fic, just to see if I could actually write it well...hope that's okay), and I kind of invented a germophobic race of aliens. Now I was just wondering if that was okay with you, or if you already had an alien race in mind. If you do, that's cool...I just thought I'd share my idea with you. I'd even post what I have so far if you'd like to read over it. Just say the word.

Well I was sort of thinking of Morbo's species you know cause he's always saying that they'll attack and they finally do. But I'm willing to open up to your idea. Towed in a Black Hole: Fry and Bender chase after a get-rich-quick-scheme by buying a used spaceship in a junkyard that they try to repair. Bender goes on a power trip, whilst Fry keeps messing everything up.

Big Bender: Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg get kidnapped by the Omicrons, and are held for ransom. It's up to Fry, Leela, and Bender to save them. And Bender tries out a chip that the Professor installed in him that he thought would turn Bender nice, but instead, Bender ends up with a mean cowboy persona instead! The tagline could be: "When the Omicrons kidnapped Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg...They weren't warned about Big Bender!"

These fanfics will come next year. As for the one I'm currently working on, I have a life and The Road to Fanzipar will be written. Let me know what you think of these fanfic ideas.

The second doesn't really strike me though. I'd like to know WHY the Omicronians would even bother nidnapping those crewmembers for ransom to start with... it doesn't seem like something they'd do. And secondly (and more importantly) it really just sounds like a slightly tweaked rehash of "I Second That Emotion" to me.

And don't do the second one. It's bad. You can try changing the kidnappers to another species or group that doesn't consider humanity to be a minor annoyance, but you still have a lame premise of Bender being a mean cowbot instead of a mean robot. I can't even think of a reasonably good way to turn this story around. You could turn it into a "hero versus a horde of villains" story, but those tend to be formulaic and predictable. On the other hand, if you make Fry the hero, you could call it "Fry Hard" or "Fry Hard: With a Bend-gence."

Seriously though... you'd be lucky. Our fanfic uploading script isn't up and running yet, hence why there hasn't been a fanfic update at the site for a while now. I've already got a backlog of three fics to put up, and I know Graham has at least got a couple too.

And while I'm here, I might as well announce I've got another fic in the works. I'm having a bit of trouble writing "A Past With No Future" at the mo', so I'll do what I did when I had trouble with UoM a while ago: write a quick, one-off comedy fic. I've got no definite title yet (NNYPD Blue is a possibility...) but it's basically about Bender becoming a cop along with Smitty and URL. It was originally going to be a subplot for another fic I had planned, but upon getting ideas it looks as though it's set to become its own story now (though it may have a subplot of its own). I'll spoil a couple of scenes and lines for you while I'm at it I suppose:

SMITTY: Here is the pepper spray for your solid criminals, and salt spray for your slime-based ones. SMITTY: And if anybody yells "You'll never take me alive!" that's an automatic licence to kill. BENDER: Man, that downtown target practice simulation was great! The screams from some of those pop-up targets sounded real! URL: That's because they are. SMITTY: Yeah. Part of the Ironic Punishment division to solve those overcrouding issues in the prisons. BENDER: I could arrest the lot of you'se! LEELA: For what? BENDER: Where to start? How about *you* for flying an unwarranted and registered spacecraft with no insurance. LEELA: I kept telling *you* to sort that out, but you wouldn't! BENDER: (ignoring) And then there's Hermes, for having illegal substances on the premises! HERMES: What?! BENDER: That's right! You thought you could hide your stash, but I found those boxes of uranium in your office. HERMES: They're not ours! We're supposed to deliver them this afternoon! BENDER: And then the Professor Farnsworth, with his unregistered doomsday weapons. FARNSWORTH: (snorts) Bah! The governments of Earth, Neptune and Pluto don't need excuses to have them! Why should I?! That's democracy for you! And Plutocracy, for that matter... BENDER: And, of course, Fry. FRY: What? BENDER: Oh, don't act all innocent! Sailing A-Weight: Professor Farnsworth sends everyone on a treasure hunt to the planet Oceanview, which is 99% water. The treasure is in an abandoned pirate ship that's the only sign of land there. Unfortunately, evil hands have got to it first. Also, Fry reveals a secret to Bender about his weight. Hint: it's not being overweight.

It has been many months (perhaps a few years) since I last updated my work in progress “The Revival of Project A.L.B.I.A.” I wish that I could tell you, that, in that long period of time, I’ve been restlessly pushing myself to finish the script, working sleepless nights to get the last few chapters written and posted.

I wish I could tell you that, but I can’t.

For a while, I thought I was suffering from a protracted sort of writer’s block. Every time I opened the next chapter to pick up where I’d left off, I became stuck within a few lines. The story just didn’t seem to flow like I wanted it to. At some point, it finally occurred to me that the whole story is unorganized and choppy. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how unpleasant the previous chapters are. There are so many horrible lines I wish I could take back, disastrous scenes I want to rewrite….

Probably the most frustrating of all these faults are the sub-plots that I tried to fit in, and that I’ve since realized are horrible out of place in this fanfic. Don’t even get me started on the “other half” of the crossover: that was so poorly explained and thrown together that I’m em
