Wow, Gorky.  I didn't know you wrote so much since the last time I posted here.  Excellent work.  Same goes for all you poets.  Rhyming is fun.

Anyway, I stayed up faaaar too late writing this; don't ask me why:

The Episodes of the Show

My Three Suns, I Roommate,
Head in Polls, Watergate
Where No Fan Has Gone Before.
Ice-Catraz Bot-Bird
And War Is The H-Word
Involve shooting guns but no gore.

Mother’s Day, Parabox
Spanish Fry, Futurstocks
Route Of All Evil’s a pun
A.O.I. Part One
And Crimes Of Hot were fun
Involving Gore but not a gun.

When Aliens Attack
Hermes got His Groove Back
Space Pilot Three Thousand’s the first.
The Series Has Landed
Deep South left them stranded
The Honking’s when Bender got cursed.

Roswell That Ends Well
Other Robots are Hell
Some say Lobstertainment’s the worst,
Gave Freedom a Taste
Ball of Garbage and waste
Iron Chef had a stomach that burst.

Women In The Mood
Eating Popplers as food
Remember that Pharaoh and Flight?
Obsolete, so replace
And the Labors in Space
Were Lost just like that Parasite!

Bender, he Gets Made
By the Fishful he’s paid
Two Santas and an X-mas Story.
Where Buggalo Roam
Leela's found her true Home
And Fry has a whole Slurm Factory.

Mars University
Not Allowed On TV
Bendless Love and Bender Raging,
Bend Her and The Sting
Idle Hand’s a Plaything
Mutant Hurdles has reverse aging.

A Woman Cryonic
Time Slipping is chronic
A Leela and Clone of our Own
I Second Emotion
Jurassic devotion
Bending In The Wind that was blown

Brannigan Begins
A Lesser Evil wins
Why Be a Crustacean In Love?
Bot Planet is Feared
Fryish Luck disappeared
And more Love in a Rocket above

Earth Stupidly Stood
Date a Robot, you should
And I’ll Put Your Head onto My Shoulder.
Give Big Boys to fools
And The Cyber House Rules
Has shown beauty be in the eye-holder.

Godfellas, we watch
Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch
Bicyclops or Interests for Two
There’s The Why Of Fry
Lesser Heroes Than I,
Insane In The Mainframe; adieu...

Thanks, guys and gal.

JDB:  Bicyclops Built for Two.  I had to rewrite the last stanza, which didn't take too long.  Figuring out which episode I somehow left out did.  Especially at 2AM.

Great poem, JBERGES. Nice idea there...listing all the episodes as a poem. And I can only imagine how it must have sucked...figuring out that you made a mistake after working so hard... Eh, it turned out good, so, there's that.

Anyway, this is (part of) a poem that I've had in the back of my mind for a while. Uh...enjoy.
---------------------------

Philip J. Fry
Came to this future time
Through a series of impossible actions.
As he's gotten used to it all
He's continued to fall
Through so many innumerable tractions.

Selling his lungs
In favor of gills
(dangerous, yes,
but well worth it's thrills).
Risking his butt to get Leela a gift
(and almost getting his X-Mas kiss).

Being disembowled by a lobster doctor
A one-off fling with Morgan Proctor.

----------------------------

So, um, yeah. That's all I have so far...2 1/2 stanzas. Thank you and good night.

Short little one...it's one of the poems on this webpage I'm working on (it's full of intentionally bad "gothic" poems about geeky things, mostly computers).

I weep
I bleed
I die
Futurama has been cancelled.

Unfortunately, that's also one of the worst poems on the page.

Think more immature, people.

I had the "Countries of the World" song from Animaniacs stuck in my head at the time.  It all lines up pretty well, except mine never goes into the chorus.

Here's a little ditty I've been playing around with...

Leela’s Lamentation*
(Tune: “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face”, My Fair Lady)

I've grown accustomed to his face,
To his fidgit and his squirm;
I've grown accustomed to his smile
And his total lack of style–
His gape, his stare,
His pointy hair
Are an addiction to me now,
Like taking crack, or drinking Slurm.

I was a stable, prudent woman with no questions when we met,
Now my life is rampant chaos without end–and yet,
I've grown accustomed to his belch,
Accustomed to his stare,
Accustomed to his face...

I've grown accustomed to his face,
He makes me grin when he's around.
I'm just so used to hear him say "What up?" both night and day
His highs, his lows,
His pointy nose
Are second nature to me now,
He's an addiction most profound.

I'm very grateful he's my friend,
And just a friend, I can't forget;
I can keep my independence if I try–and yet,
I've grown accustomed to his laugh,
Accustomed to his smile,
Accustomed to his face.

*I have edited this to change the title, which is now entirely different from JBerges' "Leela's Lament."    ;)

I'm trying...actually, I've got a Kif story almost finished [*done now, check in my thread for it], but I know you want me to write more Fry&Leela shippiness, and so do I!  But, in truth, I'm almost afraid to, for fear I'll accidentally use some plot idea (or title!) that you or Layla or JB has used.

Example: I never said, but before I even got on this board, I was playing with the idea of a story with a similar plot device as Layla's (a trek through a character's mental landscape, only in my case, it was going to be Leela's).

Now I'm paralyzed by fear of copyright infringement....

Fear not, Shiny.  It's not like I used the name for a story or poem or anything, just a Futurama instrumental piece I wrote a little while back... I think I posted a link to it somewhere early in Layla's first thread...

I like alliteration too. And hey, if it ever happens again, does the phrase "Great minds think alike" hold any significance to you?        :D    Keep writing!

EDIT:  I found the link!

Anchovies!

how i love your juicy oils

Iwillbereunitedwithyou,
You; the anchovy fish!
forwhom I breathe

anchovy is me;
understood am i by anchovy,

me the doctor of medicalmedicine
WHY caN’T i clone you
Ohtasty anchovI-

will miss you

not the anchovies

(that is the-)
Way it will be

I; guess.
from now on-

it is mold sandwiches and cucumber cheese
forME.

Professor Zoidberg, of the animated television show Futurama, wrote this poem shortly after he devoured the last known specimen of anchovy in the Universe. It is important to note that the anchovy became extinct due to over fishing by Professor Zoidberg’s fellow crustaceans who considered the fish to be a delicacy.

What do you think? Does it remind anyoneof the styling of E.E. Cummings? I reposted it here after learning of this thread.

The Ballad of PEELified Shippers

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
of the fans of a hopeful love.
That started from this modest show
of which we can not have enough.

About Fry, who is not the smartest man,
and Leela, who's brave and sure.
For whom the people of which we sing now,
joined a three hour forum, a three hour forum.

The going started getting rough,
Our dreams were twist and tossed.
If not for the courage of this group of fans,
the 'Ship would be lost, the 'Ship would be lost.

The show's once again setting ground on shore, on cable nonetheless,
with Venus, and the shippers, too,
Hopeless, and Shiny,
PCC Fred,
Xan, Arkan, and Prof. Zoid!
Are here on Futurama's PEEL!

Now this is the tale of our union,
we're here for a long, long time.
We have to make the best of things;
it's an uphill climb.

The Shiny and the Venus, too,
will do their very best
to make details of this peculiar 'Ship
obvious to the rest.

No doubt, no dispair, no depression,
we're as happy as can be.
And unlike for distrusters of romance,
the truth is plain to see.

So join us here when you can, our friends,
you're at least sure for a smilet,
as we count down to the show's return,
the secondary pilot!

Not bad at all Xanfor; a few lines don't quite line up with the theme, but there's clearly a good effort there and it's otherwise good.  Plus, I like anything that rhymes.

Well, I was bored at work today, and I figured there's now a new chapter to write in my Raven spoof:

Part 2

Three years running surfaced rumors
Clogged the internet like tumors
Taxed the loyal fans’ kind humors, ruined any good rapport.
Unabated speculations,
Needless, heedless false elations
Undone undue celebrations; caused the faithful to abhor
Caused the faithful followers to question and then to abhor
Those who stated “there is more.”

Soon a claim came from the West,
Prospects were looking the best.
To new eps he did attest, plus DVD’s totaling four!
But these claims he would rescind
Left avid watchers most chagrinned
“Like Shelly’s Ode, West is all Wind! We won’t believe him anymore!”
Said fans, and most, indeed, would not believe him anymore.
Tricked again by “there is more...”

Billy clarified his error
Said there was no need for terror
While new seasons weren’t truth, for movies he’d stay guarantor.
Trepidation, consternation
Greeted this rectification
Some demanded validation of news they’d believed before
Cynics laughed while others questioned what they’d believed heretofore.
Still left asking, “Is there more?”

Other sources began listing
Each of them began insisting
That what Billy’d been persisting was in fact more than just lore
Outbursts by Segal and Reuters
Made fans scamper to computers
Finding that many imputers echoed what was said before.
Finding out it may be true, everything that was said before.
“Futurama’s back once more!?”

Now we wait while our minds wander
Absence making our hearts fonder
Even skeptics now must ponder although they try to ignore
“Is this finally the start,
Of what was once forced to depart?
A phoenix that may soon impart the plot it has yet to explore?
Will the story arc complete; show what it was meant to explore?
Is there… is there… is there more?”

---

Perhaps a part three if the show actually does find it's way on again in 2008 (can't believe it's been 2 full years since I wrote that last part.  At that pace, it'll be 2008 in no time)

I referenced another poem in my poem, I'm so proud!

SP:  It was written on and off throughout 3 hours at work; couldn't tell you exactly how much of that time was actually spent on it.  And as I've admitted, I'm not afraid to consult a dictionary or thesaurus when writing.

Nerdo: Exactly. I'll also become a pro videogame music composer... and a unicorn.

Xanfor: I assume that's another parody of a theme song of sorts, but I can't place it...

Capy:  It rhymes well enough, but you need to work on the number of syllables you use; get the rhythm down.
