** a continuation of a previous topic **

This is the near finished Leela sculpture I'm making ..
I had a friend suggest selling painted copies of it online. So, I'm field testing that theory. I'm also taking request's to make other sculptures for duplication. The sculpture is aprox. 6 inches big.

If you are interested in purchasing one, you can contact me through my profile, or my contact on my site:  http://www.maddoc3d.com
Back work for me.

The leela statue is 6 inches tall including base. I'll give you the complete demensions later. I'm projecting that the sculpture would cost 15-25 dollars depending on demand. It'd also be painted too, and in a packaged box if I can swing it.

I might consider such a deal as well, though it would be a little odd to have a Leela head on a sitck sitting in my room.

Does it come on the stick?

It would come with the Leela's head (painted) and the base and Name plate (painted) in a lil' box. I'm going to make a prototype tommorow when I recover from my hangover. As well as paint it up so u can see it in COLOR!

I'd love to see the rest of the big players (Bender, Fry, Farnsworth...Scruffy)

Doesn't this break some sort of copyright law? Though I'm hardly one to talk ;) That aside, it is very nice. If I could afford it, I'd buy it.

I'm pretty sure it's legal, as long as he doesn't sell too many.

It is very nice, good job. Super Sculpey, yes?

I don't think it's breaking any copyright laws. Because I'm translating it to a diffrent medium, but if I am, and the higher up's say stop, That'd be cool nonetheless..

Yes, its made of Super Sculpty, Styrene Plastic, and Casteline Wax, and some wood.

Though it would rock if it got the attention of Groening or Cohen..

The next head sculpture in line is Fry. Then a full body Leela and Fry.

Painted one? no problem, it'd have to be later tonight or tommorow, becuase I'm molding it now..

Zoidberg?.. Heck yeah I'd love to do the whole main cast.. Leela, Fry, Bender, Zoidy, Proffesor, Amy, Scruffy, Hermes.. maybe even the Robot Devil.. And then make some of them into Full body ones too. But not putting the cart before the horse, Lemme finish one and get the other goin'.

I would buy a package of Leela, Fry, Bender and The professor for a resonable amount.

And if they all looked as spot on as your Leela.

Each head/bust is going to be about $15-25, That includes packaging, painting and all that jazz. It's really going to be at cost, but none the less its going to rock.

Tommorow I'm going to a printer to see about getting the packaging printed and cut. It's going to be as professional as a DIY kit can be!

No. That's a stupid idea Davey. It defeats the object of the sculpture.

However, could you perhaps package them in bubble wrap and a bit of sellotape for those of us who are cash strapped. And perhaps a paint free version for those with even less money.

I linked your site on mine by the way, hope you don't mind.

Actually, I'm still making the molds for the leela sculpt as I'm typin'. So I can make multiple copies.

Once I have one succesful cast, I'm going to paint it and post it. Then start the next one.

15 to 25 dollars? I'd buy it! Provided I could find a place to put it...Pfft...Forget it! I'd buy it anyway! It is of perfect quality from what I can see, and I'm sure it'd be even better once it's painted.

I think that's really cool. I couldn't do that. I'm lucking enough to have drawn her. So how long have you been working on it? Are you going to make other characters and have a collection? You could make big bucks off that.

.. Uhm she took 10 hours to sculpt, 1 hour to sand clean, 10+ hours learning how to mold.. with the end result of:

I still have more cleaning to do, as well as some epoxei'n where the gap is in her banges. but besides that.. It's pretty good for my first mold.

Also.. sorry bout' not getting this done sooner.. The second I bought molding material, my freelance work went through the roof.. I just finished a 36 hour shift animating spheres!

*edit*
Next in line to be sculpted is Fry and Bender. I can also fill custom orders.

*editx2*
Money order or US curency (cash) would be accepted, and I could ship anywhere, I just don't know how much its going to cost..

Her banges broke? .. nope by detaching the front part of her banges it allowed me to mold her face without losing any of the detail. It's also going to allow me to paint her face faster, and cleaner. I just finished sanding her.. now to epoxy!

maddoc3d.. that's really awesome. i tried making a sculpture of fry once, out of plain old clay (only thing available) but i couldn't get it right and left it alone. i admire your... umm whatever it's called that keeps you working on it (unless, of course, it's just plain talent)

anyways, i'd like to buy them seeing as i just got a job.

Thanks guys/gals for your patience and generious feedback!
My main motivation on this piece would be my anal retentiveness, and loads of coffee. Seriously, gallon's of coffee. And the fact that this kind of merchandise was not available for Futurama..

I'm glad that I have a job (3D artist/animator/modeler..) , and I work and stuff.. but I want to get this done already!! When I get some free time.. they keep dragin' me back into work..

* She's prep'd, prime'd, and ready waiting for me to find some time to airbrush! .. then I will have pics, glorious pics to show. And can begin taking orders!
