Hey y'all.

I only found you recently, but I thought you might like to see what I have been working on for the last month.

Enjoy!

Bite my shiney metal ASS!

I stopped traffic on my little stroll...must have been a sight for the neighbors     :)

Anyway, I lurked here for a little bit while doing my research- so just wanted to say Thank You!

Holy Crap.  That's unbelievable.  Major props for the best costume ever, and ten million bonus points for the working compartment with the bottle of Olde Fortran.

...and do stick around.

I am speechless... good thing I communicate by typing on here...  How long did that take? I know you said a month, but is that a month of 16-hour days or what?

Thanks alot you guys. It's very flattering to get such nice comments from the "experts".

I worked mostly on the weekends, but a maybe a couple of hours each day during the week trying to complete a little at a time until just this weekend when I finally had almost all of the parts done enough to be wearable on Halloween.

It should be fun!

BTW thanks for the move.  I was not sure which forum was best for my first post  :)

That is an amazing costume.  Perhaps one of the best I've ever seen. Every touch is perfect.  Now, if you can just throw in a flaming belch, and I think you have everything.

By the by, does anyone know what happened to the Talking Bender on E-bay?  did it make its reserves?

Edit:

Just looked it up, it went for $4,000.00 US.  Well, some rich guy must be happy.

Again, thank you sooo much.  You are too kind.  I think I am a little too old for trick or treating (or so they tell me- I never believed this! Im 33) but I am going to enter Bender in the Las Vegas ComiCon Halloween masquerade.  Hopefully he will do well!

You guys and the CGEF site were very inspirational.

Juliet, why do I feel like I am missing something? You must really be a fan of Bender too huh?  :)

thanks again-

How much does it weigh? Will you steal a baby to put in your body compartiment?

Even more Thanks!

It's not that heavy, but it's not exactly light either.  It's mostly plastic and glue, but there is an aweful lot of bondo- and a CD player and amplifier that make it a little bit heavier than it could be.

the head weighs about 5 pounds, and the body is a little heavier, maybe around 10 pounds?

I was not completly satisfied with the hands, so I made a new set.  Are these better or worse?  I know they are not accurate to the show- but I want to still be able to function  :)

I'll try to post more, but this is the first thing I've had to contribute...

Woah, that is great! That took you only a month? That just looks too good.
The beer bottles are a good touch and a functional door is just amazing. What different materials did you use to make it?
Anyway, that would make a great custom avatar so that people remember you:

If you want that as your avatar (the pic under your name) go to this thread, post the pic and underneath write: Upload to custom
If not then don't worry.
