How do you do it?  If someone would post some tips here that would be great.

Paint Shop Pro - enlarge you framegrab by 300% or so, and change the brightness so it's extra light. With the pen tool, use 2-3 pixels width to trace the lines. Open a copy of the original f/g, and use the Dropper tool to get colors and fill them into your drawing. The Tolerance setting should be close to 100. Reduce the size of the drawing to smooth out the lines and your're done.

I'll someday do a tutorial on how I do scan-arts, but at the momemnt I'm a tad bit busy to write, let alone for anyone to be able to understand it.

get illustrator 9
bring a grab into your page
lock down that layer
add a new layer (or more)
draw using the grab as a template
fix up lines
add/remove stuff if needed
save as gif, or sometimes jpg
impress your friends!

im just not that good with this, plus i cant draw, plus I don't have those programs.

Use either Photoshop 6 or PSP 7.02 to fill it in, using Illustrator as a fill tool is a pain.

illustrator is easier and makes it far more resizable and better quality, you could also use flash for it, but I have no idea how that is done

I used Flash 5, when I started out, and can just about remember how to use it.

Juliet is using Flash 5, to some good effect as can be seen here.  This is one of her first attempts, it's better than anything I first produced, and I'm not kidding.

Illustrator is better than photoshop
its actually meant for drawing, not just photo editing  :p
