Forgive me if this has been posted already, in V.1 of the goof thread or whatever. I noticed that in Love's Labours Lost in Space, while Kif is leading Leela to the Zapper's private quarters, another Doop soldier passes going somewhere else. A woman! But in War is the H Word, we find that the army has instituted a men-only policy. Hmm...

I finally pryed my eyes off of Leela long enough to catch that too. She has three arms for what seems to be at least half a second. Pretty major goof there!

On www.ilovebender.com in the Gallery that picture has been corrected so she only has two.

It's not edited, the third arm goes away after a few frames. I have a feeling it was deliberate, since there would otherwise be too much Amy Wong on screen (Kryten, what are you doing with that knife???)

The policy could have been instated between the two episodes. After all, Leela got a DOOP uniform in When Aliens Attack.

Ooh, I found something kind of neat in Bender's Big Score. I mean, I'm sure it's not really a goof but I don't know where else it would go. Full body Gore in the 3007. At first I thought it was one of the presidential candidates, but I don't think so[This message has been edited by chanukahzombie (edited 12-01-2007).]

In Benders Big Score, there is a piece that is really bothering me. When Lars stops by the PE building to drop off Hermes new jar, there is a point twhere you can here billy west say "Horray!", but I cant tell if it is supposed to be Lars or Fry in a sarcastic voice, I played this over about 20 times and still cant figure it out. Is there an error here, or am I losing my mind?

Okay, guess it's safe to come up with BBS goofs now:Auto-destruct Bender is virus-infested, and you can see that he has the curly red virus symbols in his pupils before he attempts to vaporise Fry. However, when he is unfrozen at the end, his sunglasses fall off and his pupils are magically reset to the black squares. Guess it's been overlooked in the animation. Either that, or freezing a bending unit in a cryogenic tube erases the persistent obedience virus, without touching the porn ;-)

If I'm thinking of the right one, I think it's Fry's line, 'Oh Hooray, it's Lars and his wonderful jars.'

Baccilicoccus wouldn't make a differnece. The '-coccus' part mean spherical (or lmost spherical.) And Bender's eyes go from red to black a few times.

I'm not sure if this is a goof or not. Actally, I'm not sure what this is....But anyway, while I was watching "Spanish Fry" again during the Adult Swim marathon, I noticed something interesting. When Fry and the others reach the place that sells human horn, look at the store's sign. It says "The Beast with Backs" or something like that.
I wonder if that could be foreshadowing or just a simple hint/reference to the next movie, The Beast With A Billion Backs. EDIT: I noticed something else as well. In the episode, "The Cryonic Woman", there is a line that Fry says to Michelle.
He says something like, "I miss the year 3000, where brains flew through space and everyone ate lasters." O.O I thought the brains-flying-through-space part of the line was interesting, because at this point, the events of "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid" haven't happened yet. I'm not sure if that line was just something funny, a hint about this event, or if it was supposed to be foreshadowing. ^^; [This message has been edited by FryFangirlLisa (edited 01-01-2008).]

Maybe being frozen for 1,000 years naturally caused it to change color? But if that were the case, the same would have happened for Fry...

One of the more glaring recurring continuity goofs...the technology for preserving living heads in jars was created by Ron Popeil at some point after Fry was frozen in 1999, yet there are countless celebrities and historical personages who died long before 1999 whose heads appear in the year 3000 (Richard Nixon and the old-timey presidents like George Washington and Chester A. Arthur come to mind). And another thing...how does Fry know who Lucy Liu is? Aside from her role on Ally McBeal, she wasn't hugely famous when Fry was frozen in '99. She was in that Mel Gibson film "Payback", which came out in 1999. I remembered her from that (as the masochistic hooker), long before she was in Ally Mcbeal...

Still, if Fry's dream was to "date a beautiful celebrity", there were a lot more famous women he probably would have thought of on the spot while browsing the [Kid]Nappster website. Liu didn't become famous famous until after '99 (Charlie's Angels, Kill Bill, ect.). It's kind of like on Mystery Science Theater 3000 how Joel/Mike could make riffs referencing movies and TV shows that came out after they were confined to the Satellite Of Love.

On one of the DVD commentaries, Matt Groening said he actually considered giving his human characters five fingers to differentiate the show from the Simpsons universe, but caved due to the traditional reasons why cartoon characters have only four digits (i.e. it's just easier to draw). It might have been funny if Fry had five fingers, and woke up in the year 3000 to discover that mankind had evolved to the point where they dropped a finger, and thus no one understood what he was getting at when he tried flipping the bird.

Yeah, that's actually what I thought when I first started watching the show, it took me a while to notice that they had four fingers, and I remember thinking that possibly Fry had five, to differentiate or distinguish him from his new surroundings in some way. Then of course I found out that he didn't either.

It's a doom proof vest, meaning it protects you from doomsday devices. Since a doomsday device is supposed to destroy at least part of the universe it must have something to screw with space-time instead of just being a bomb. Thus the vest wouldn't necessarily protect you from a conventional explosion.[This message has been edited by Frisco17 (edited 03-17-2008).]

Bender's Big Score. In the second song the Chanuka Zombie's part begins with the words: "<something> says be slow to anger. Low-down scammers got me seeing red." I haven't been able to make out the first word but I noticed on page 1 of the "1000 Things to learn" thread Bendersfan1221 tells Xanfor that it's "Talmud". If this is so then my DVD has a subtitle 'goof' because when I watch this scene with the subtitles turned on this word is transcribed as "Comet". After looking it up to see what it means I can see that 'Talmud' makes much more sense than 'Comet' does in this circumstance. I wonder if this is a non-US thing since I'm in New Zealand (region 4).

More BBS subtitle err... liberties. When Bender goes back to Egypt, 1351 BC he seems to say "Scarab forearm bird bird bird" but this is transcribed in the subtitles as "Scarab forearm bur bur bur". Huh? Like, how many 'burs' do you see depicted in ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics? And later, during the discussion about the time equation Bubblegum instructs Sweet Clyde to "Use variation of parameters and expand the Wronskian." However the last word ends up being spelled "rhine skin" in the subtitles! Oh my. And Xanfor, since this thread doesn't seem to be displaying people's sigs I am unable to give the traditional response of "What a guy!" to your kipper/breakfast line. Sorry. Hmmm, I thought that Bender might be speaking actual ancient Egyptian in that scene. It would only take a few calls to some Professors to get one line. Seems like a the nerdy thing to do. I'll have to check the the first script draft on the DVD sometime today.
