Mom has to be at least 150 years old if she dated the prof. yet her kids are at the most, 50 years old. That means that she was about 100 years old when she had them, but she was younger when she was in love with the prof. Who is the father of the three sons, or did they mention that already(I haven't seen a lot of episodes)? Can anybody tell me? And having kids when you are 100 years old is scary. Or maybe things are different in the future.    :)

I don't think it's intended to make any sense. A lot of the "inconsistencies" in Futurama are there on purpose, as a form of meta-humor; that is, humor that's outside the story and characters...jokes about the fundamentaly bogus nature of TV shows and movies themselves. (I plan a lengthy post about this later, to be titled "Meta-Humor in Modern Animation: A Grand Unified Theory of Futrama, The Simpsons, the Critic, and Duckman" )

And for what it's worth, even way back in the 20th century, we had the technology to freeze embryos for later use.

I read somewhere that the Creators had intended to reveal this at some point in time, but seeing as Futurama was cancelled, it never happened.

In the commentary for one of the episodes (Mother's Day, if I recall correctly) I think someone (DXC?) reveals that at least one of them (Ignar, I think) was Farnsworth's son.  Or I may be remembering wrong.  As you can see, it's not exactly crystal-clear in my mind.

Yeah, it was Igner who was supossed to be Farnsworth's son. At one point they even had him set up as the crews arch-nemesis. Check out the David X Cohen interview on ANSTATMAW for more information.

Ok this is my thought. what if they were cloned from mum but made to be male insted of female and the first son (the smartest) was cloned from mum and then the second son (the not so smart and not so dumb) was cloned from the first son abd the third son (the dumbest) was cloned from the second son.

thats why they get dumber with each brother.

so why dont you think on that one.

"But one thing we were going to reveal down the line was that Igner was the Professor's illegitimate son, because he and Mom had had a fling years ago." - David X. Cohen

Then you have to ask where Walt and Larry came from.

Maybe one of them is Wernstrom's son.

Surely Farnsworth wasn't the only employee that Mom had an affair with over the years.

Just because Farnsworth is the only man she ever loved, that doesn't mean that he's the only man she ever had sex with.
