In episode 1ACV03 'I,Roommate', When Fry and Bender were looking for a flat they came across to one which is similar to an opening of the Simpsons. Have a look for your self: http://www.gotfuturama.com/cgi-bin/imageview.cgi?/Multimedia/FrameGrabs/1ACV03/Grabs/pic00174.jpg     :)

Isn't that from some classical painting?

Yes, it's based on M.C. Escher's "Relativity":

The Escher painting was used in The Simpsons as well.

Mystery solved.

Yes it is very cool. It's one of MC Escher's most famous drawings. There's another art reference at the very begining of the same episode. Bender bending the alarm clock over the corner of the table is a parody of Salvador Dali's The Persistence of Memory painting, the one with all the melting clocks hanging on tree branches.

Add the cover image of the 2004 calendar for Escher homages.

I think it's Escher.

A bit off topic here, but I was watching Star Trek Voyager (yes, I'm a geek) on Hallmark Taiwan last night, and during one of the commercials I spotted a 3d Bender at the bottom of the screen.

I'm not sure what the ad was for, but I'm gonna watch for it again tonight.

if this has been brought up before i apologise but is there a coincidence between the robot cop URL and the lighthouse called EARL (i know its different spelling but the writers dont like to be obvious) from the episode (el viaje misterioso de nuestro jomer) where homer eats the insanity peppers

Ther's another simpson reference in "A Big Pice Of Garbage" When they landed on the Garbage ball, and Bender takes a Bart doll, and drag it and it says "Eat my shorts" And Bender eats it and says "mmm shorts" just like Homer Simpson would say.. right?

There are many Simpsons refrences.  In the episode with the ball of garbage headed towards the Earth, Fry and Leela go on it bla bla bla (you guys know it)... you see a pile of Bart dolls and I think Fry pulls the cord on one of them.  There's more, Just not off the top of my head.

Maybe my mind was spinning to fast on this one, but when I saw this scene, I couldn't help but thinking, "Hey, that looks just like the garden of the Simpson's House..."

Something that I do notice is that they are useing a charcoal BBQ 1000 years in the future when they are out of date even today.

When did Hank Hill become a PEELer?

I prefer charcoal barbeques, as you get the make whichever party guest shows up unreasonably early empty the ashes and clean the grill.

Besides, if you raise the speed of light, propane won't burn anymore.*

* Actually, neither will charcoal. For that matter, the solar system, the human body, etc. wouldn't work either. But it's my nit, so I'm using it for my argument.

well I was just going by the logic that a propaine bbq is eaiser to light. But remember it is also more dangerious, "With great power comes great responsabilty"

Well, newHankHill_1, you can peddle your propane and propane accessories all you like, but 1000 years in the future, we'll all be using charcoal grills. And pirates will do all the cooking.

You know, I did think that.  But when I checked against episodes on the Simpsons DVDs (Especially Tree House of Horrors I), and it isn't.  But I'm glad I'm not thet only one to think so.

Yup, in 'Space Pilot 3000' when Fry is using the NNY tube transportation system for the first time.

Of course, 742 Evergreen Terrace doesn't have sliding doors, anyway!  ;)

Anyway, there's one I hope you doesn't know, from the Simpsons episode, Missionary Impossible. It's at the ending, when Betty White talking about viewers saving Fox, you can see Bender on the group waiting for the phone to ring!!!
