Yes it is very cool. It's one of MC Escher's most famous drawings. There's another art reference at the very begining of the same episode. Bender bending the alarm clock over the corner of the table is a parody of Salvador Dali's The Persistence of Memory painting, the one with all the melting clocks hanging on tree branches.

Yes it is, it's based on "Hand met spiegelende bol" meaning hand with reflecting globe, incase anybody cares.

There are many Simpsons refrences. In the episode with the ball of garbage headed towards the Earth, Fry and Leela go on it bla bla bla (you guys know it)... you see a pile of Bart dolls and I think Fry pulls the cord on one of them. There's more, Just not off the top of my head.

ive been puzzled by this for ages!!! i know that the simpsons was made by the same person as futerama. but why dont futerama characters show up on the simpsons??? they always show up on futerama
