Is there a volumes 1-4 futurama megapack that comes together with all 72 episodes that you can buy as a set. I know that they have something like that in the UK, do they have a set like that in the United States.

It's true. I was in HMV and there was one big set for £79. But that's in the UK.

Dont worry, I've done the same, but with the numerous offers that are on and with vouchers and stuff, I've got them much cheaper than if I bought the whole £79 set.

Are they the same discs, because people were saying that in different areas some are better quality than others are these the good ones or are they not so good.

I already have them all, but if I can get my hands on a total set I probably will buy it. I don't know if it thats wierd but I don't care so ya.

I would think that the DVD's would be the same quality just in a nifty big box.

Usually the Australian ones are done the same as the UK ones...here they have the four discs for each set in ONE cover, but with a little flip-tray in it, so each disc has a separate part of the case to itself. They have four of these cases (one for each set), and put it in a bigger box. It's exactly the same quality and content as the individual seasons.
There's also a collector's bag which is a blue bag with the Futurama logo in it, which houses the four seasons inside it.

So the quality is the same as the ones in the U.S., I exspect they are, I don't know why they wouldn't be.

i don't think they do. i asked for the DVDs for christmas and while looking for a set on amazon.com the only sets they had were for foreign regions. i also had to get them seperately to ensure that they would play in my DVD player =(.

the set they did have for the UK though was really nice. i was uber jealous.

I've got it- but I'm in Oz.  I reckon you could buy a set off ebay or something as long as you have a multi-region DVD player.

Yeah, that's how I got Seasons 1 and 3, however I got Seasons 2 and 4 in their actual box sets for $30 each, good deal.

Why did you buy them disc by disc, that sounds odd.

Try ebay or amazon.com to get that pack. I also live in the US and I can't find a pack of all of the seasons.

Because sometimes here it has been cheaper to buy all the discs individually rather than buying them in a box (I got Seasons 1 and 3 both for $30 each, when it will have cost $50 for the same stuff, but in a flimsy cardboard box).

Theyve recently been selling off all the 'comedy heavyweights' i.e. box sets of Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, and another one for £20, I think thats like $40, not sure with the current economics. Anyway, they are now back up o their usual price of £40 in some shops (thats like $80 then). but now, theyve brought out the box sets, but the DVD cases are now ultra slim. Esh, I prefer the ones I have. Big and bulky-more protection *puts on shades* And oh yeah, these are also £40.

I found something out, the U.K. megapacks with all the eps, only work on region 2 dvd players and universal ones also. So it would be stupid to buy it if you live in U.S.A. because they are different so they won't work for most of the dvd players here.

I'd say, also how do you know if its universal, is there universal companies or just certain modles, I am curious now. I would imagion it wouldn't be cheap, who knows maybe it is.

They're the same exact discs..  the packaging was different for the US & the European market though.  Then they released a boxset of all 4 seasons in the European market.  Only difference between the different sets is PAL and NTSC.  ;)

I am pretty sure they are different, i looked up on Amazon.com they said under the description that they only play on region 2 dvd players or universals

Just thought I'd mention that I was in Virgin today and they were stocking season 1 in the slimline cases. It's not exactly the same packaging as the US ones -- these new ones don't have the plastic sleeve. I didn't see any slim seasons 2-4 but maybe they'll follow on once all of their old stock is sold through.

I'm gonna buy me my 'Futurama' DVDs after the movies come out, so I can buy the super-duper-jumbo-shrimp pack. I do that with all television series I get the DVDs to. After all, a good series has an overall plotline. And what's the point of having part of that plotline and not the rest?

I'm talkin' literature here, peoples!

But if you always wait for the end then you could be forever waiting for the series to end (wow - i just confused myself  :p)
