Do I need to add a 'game' section to ANSTATMAW's 'Amy Says' page, or is she cruelly ignored by videogamedom? Just wondering, because I might pick it up for the cutscenes even though I've heard the actual gameplay is pretty lame - but if Amy's not even in it, then, well...

Amy is not in the game, sorry to say. Hermes is there, but doesn't talk since he has a brain slug on his head. Scruffy appears in the basement, but is sleeping.

Wow, I'm kinda suprised that Amy's not in it, yet Scruffy is.

Maybe there's an "all Amy, all the time" level if you collect the Nibblers in an exact order.

There, that should drive the Amyholics crazy.  ;)

That's stupid.  You're stupid.

Nah, I'm just kidding.  You're alright.

I was kind of hoping, when the game game out, that Amy would be a playable character.  I was kind of expecting that they'd leave her out of it entirely, though.

Oh, well.

Which is why we should all pressure UDS to make a second Futurama game, but this time an RPG!

And this time, on a Nintendo console too!

Yeah why not, might sell them a few more copies. Though I must point out that no sensible gaming fanatic would own a GC without owning another console. There just isn't the game base for it.

Does the PC (the ultimate console) count?  :D

You could argue that all the good games for the other two (PS2 and XBox) come out on PC anyway. So a GC + PC is the best combination.  ;)

If another Futurama game is made, it should be something similar to Maniac Mansion, but with voice acting and better graphics.  Fry, Bender, Leela, Amy, Zoidberg, Hermes, and the Professor should all be playable characters.

Except...Manic Mansion was really hard! I played it recently (via Day of the Tentacle) and found it far too tough to get into.

An adventure game wouldn't be bad either.

It wouldn't have to be as hard as Maniac Mansion, although that would be a plus if you ask me.

I just think that the game should be played in a similar fashion.  Different characters should be able to do different things, requiring you to switch characters to solve certain parts of the game, ect.

Man i loved that game.. DOTT was a classic example of the great "point-and-click advanture game" days..
That is before Lucas@rts became seduced by the dark side and unleash wave after wave of StawWars game clones.. The oldies they made were really good! (SamNmax,GrimFandango,IDandTHEfateOFatlantis,XWING,TIEFighter)

Sorry, went on rumbling there.. I think they should make like a cross-breed of TheSims and PizzaTycoon for the next Futurama game. U know, u get to contol and build up Planet Express, send delivery crews to thier deaths, expand, eleminate MOM CORP, branch out to another galaxy..

Yeah, the main reason LucasArts did that is that Grim Fandango (possibly one of the best adventure games ever created) was a financial flop. So they could either have done more experimental things like Grim Fandango, or just release loads of Star Wars games. Guess which they went for.

I've often said that Futurama is ideal for an adventure game, especially in the spirit of Monkey Island. The humour just fits, and the storyline writes itself.

The main problem is adventure games don't play well on consoles, and at the moment, that's where the money is in the gaming industry. The cutthroat competition between Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft is shifting so many units that there's ample market out there for all games, so from UDS' point of view, the console game was a safe bet.

Might be fun to have a Broken Sword-esque type game.
Damn them for jettisoning the GC (and PC)! DAMN THEM!!

they should have indeed made it an adventure game. in the old lucas arts style. they could have made it like grim fandango, the best game ever made... obviously.

I think the reason why Amy was left out of the game is the near impossibility of making an accurate 3D representation of her haircut. There's always been a similar problem with the Simpson kids in all 3D Simpsons games (Hence Bart's wierd yellow crown) but you can hardly leave them out so they have to make some attempt at it. Amy, on the other hand is a minor character who has been absent for numerous episodes so they could ignore her without too much of a problem.

Oh, and I agree with the idea of an adventure game.

PS2 is the best.
I've never seen that grim fandango but if its like discworld then it gets my vote.

I would like a (possible?) sequel to have alot more extras and bonus levels etc to increase replayability and make it abit harder too.

Well, basically if you collect all the Nibblers in a specific order, you'll get access to a secret level where you control Amy. Her weapons are cuteness and snappy remarks. Aparently she can change clothes as well.

To be honest, I actually didn't notice that Amy wasn't in the game...
And at the time when Hermes was in it I couldn't stand him, so I wasn't that bothered by his small role. I think I was most annoyed with Zapp Brannigan's absence and not enough Zoidberg.

Wow...that was worth making my first post in the Stockroom for...
