Prepare to be a bit jealous Region 2-ers ... word is that DXC is planning on having certain cast members record special lines of dialogue to be added to the Region 1 version of the Season 3 DVDs (not unlike the stuff that was recorded for the Season 4 DVDs, but all new, of course).

Of course, this does mean that it will take a bit longer for us in Region 1 to get our claws on the DVDs, but then with the extra "goodies" it may be worth the wait!

Right now, I say about December/Febuary. I also doubt that Katey Segal will do any voices. Although it would be nice if she could since she really brings Leela to life. But since the death of John Ritter(Her 8 Simple Rules... star) I don't think she would.

Oh yeah?  Well...1 is higher then 2, ya know!  We're number R1!  We're number R1!

Anyways, as long as both of these sets come out within the upcoming year, I'm more or less happy.  The wait isn't great, but I can handle it.  We even get some extra stuff not in the R2 season three release apparently (Futufan, are the new bits of dialogue for the menus like in season four, or something else?) Its certainly not as bad as a certain show that only releases on set a year....

I'm sorry ... I guess I should have been a bit more specific. The planned (in other words, it's not "in stone" quite yet) newly recorded lines are going to be used over the existing, Season 3 menu screens. DXC was reportedly so pleased about the use of them on the Season 4 DVDs that he wanted to take the opportunity to add specially recorded dialogue to the Season 3, Region 1 DVDs as well (since they have yet to come out ... as we all in Region 1 are already painfully aware of).

I have a feeling that if the Region 1 versions of Season 1 & 2 weren't available yet, DXC would have had lines recorded for them, too.

Well, I hope DXC does indeed decided to put in the newly recorded lines.  That would be a really nice addition to the DVD set.

I wonder when the commentary for S1 and S2 were done? Were they done before or after Fox gave them the axe? If the commentary was done before they knew they would be cancelled then this redone commentary could be very interesting to listen to

I think someone failed to read carefully. There is no redone commentary, just some new lines of dialogue over the Season 3 menus.

It's official ... the new dialogue lines (NOT commentaries) have been recorded and are being added to the Region 1 Season 3 DVD Main Menus as we speak ... or read ... or whatever. Disc 1 is going to have Fry and Bender dialogue, Disc 2 will have Ken the Nibblonian and the Big Brain dialogue, Disc 3 will have Zapp and Kif dialogue and Disc 4 will have Lrrr dialogue.

That's what I thought. Being October it is a little late. Febuary or March seems to the better bet. And therefore would mean that Season 4 will have an August release. Such a pity.

just looking at the release dates of Season 1 to Season 2 (US) and Season 2 to Season 3 (UK), it's most likely Season 3 WONT be out by Xmas, and your best bet would be either January or March... around then.

Well on Ebay.com There is a shop that sells DVDs or just Search Futurama season 3- then scroll down until you see it, click it, it'll probably say "Buy it Now?" click it, It'll say Au :(Australlia)$80.03 Below it, it will say US: $58.54 type out the form yadda yadda yadda... but buy it befor it's too late!!!

I seem to notice the following line in the description in big red text:
 "UNOPENED & BRAND NEW Region 4 PAL"
That seem to indicate to me that it is not Region 1.  Anyone else agree, or am I off my rocker? 

I realize that it is possible to get a region free DVD player or hack a computer DVD-ROM drive, but I don't want to go through the hassle and have it only work on one system.  I'll be waiting for the R1 release.

Hey, hey... I was just pointing out that the DVD set you were referring two wasn't the Region 1 release that this thread is geared around. Sorry if I came off sounding like a jerk, that wasn't my intention, although looking at it now... it does seem that I was.

Hey Ive got an idea! Couldn't someone in Region 1 who wanted Season 3 or 4 just go to amazon.com.uk or whatever and order it from there? Sure, it would be the Region 2 DVD but still.
