That's the problem with new Family Guy. It's so damn slow, and many cutaways now usually last about a minute or so, long after the joke is dead. Yes, the comedy theory is that if something isn't funny, it can become funny if you keep doing it - but not if you're using this in every fucking episode!

I saw the first episode again yesterday, and while the animation was bad, the storyline was all over the place and the characters hadn't been worked out yet, it was better than anything they've put out in Season 5. It was unbelievably fast-paced, with a cutaway every 10 seconds or so - and they didn't drag the jokes on. It had the setup, went to a cutaway and immediately had the punchline. None of this shit with dragging jokes on as long as possible. If a joke wasn't funny in the early episodes, then that's fine, there'd be another one about 5-10 seconds later. If a joke's not funny in the new episode, you have to wait another minute for the next one. As good as PTV was, that Osama Bin Laden scene should've gone on 30 seconds maximum. Not 2 god damn minutes. We GOT the joke, now stop it.

Better Seth McFarlane, fire the monkey you left in charge of the last episode and hire the monkey you used for this one.

I thourght this was almost as bad as Jungle Love. The only thing I laughed at was that reference to that classic season 3 episode. There were so many shit random jokes. Oh gees this is worse than having sex with a rhino and him realising he doesn't love you anymore. The meeting went to for too long. Every joke just plain sucked.

And those fuckin ads. There was like 3 of them. Ball in a cup and two others mentioned.

2 out of fuckin 5

Good God, I finally saw the episode "The Courtship of Stewie's Father." Wow. That was really bad. I don't know whether it was the 5 minute long reference to not even the primary song from Little Shop of Horrors (take that, movie from 20 years ago!) or yet another Indiana Jones reference, but I kept changing the channel throughout. The drawn-out references are now just excuses for me to see what else is on. The Creepy Old Man should not be a recurring character, because that makes him less funny. On the whole, it sucked. I'm starting to agree with the "FG is going downhill" crowd.

Oh, and I finally saw the FG movie...ultra-weak.

I saw that episode and I'm agreeing with a lot of you guys. The cutaways are beyond long, the jokes aren't funny, and it's just disgusting. I mean that one where Peter created his own TV station that cused and had all the sex, come on. I felt uncomfortable watching it. It's lost the funny touch it has. And I haven't watched an episode of American Dad since the 1st season.

I gotta admit Brian doing the Peanut Butter Jelly Time thing was really funny. I don't know I think I liked the show when I knew I couldn't have any more of it. Now that there is more episodes I don't like it so much.

You felt uncomfortable watching him make his own channel? Have you even watched a whole episode of Family guy?

I don't know why people keep saying the new Family Guy sucks, because I really don't care. Don't watch if you don't think it's funny.

If not, join up! It's really good when you get used to it and they are soon changing it so it's a message board about Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons, American Da and Arrested Development!

Again, with the long cutaways. Each of them, if kept short, would've been funny, but of course, they were stretched out, which made me count the seconds to when it would hopefully be over.

I think the problem is the amount of episodes Fox ordered. Aparentally, instead of buying 13 episodes or some practical-but-decent number like that, they bought 35 new ones on the spot. That's about DOUBLE what the FG writers would usually do in a season - couple that with the fact that obviously writing's going to be rusty after the show's been off for 5 years, and of course you're going to get bad episodes like this.

I mean, I actually thought the new episodes started off good, but at this point, the writers must've been so drained (I don't see how - is it really THAT hard for a room full of people to write funny cutaways and loosely string them together with a "story?" ) that they were just putting in any crap to get the scripts done. And if an episode came in short, they probably just made the cutaways longer to make it the correct time limit...

However, the mere fact that Fox order 35 episodes of this, and yet have CUT the order of the new Arrested Development season (a show which has always been brilliant, and unlike FG, well-thought-out and incredibly tightly-written) from 22 to 13, to make room for some shitty show called Skating with Celebrities, just shows the fucking mentality of this stupid network. I mean, Skating with Celebrities? WHAT THE HELL?! You don't even need an explanation, you can just tell from the title it's going to be god-awful!

I'm saying this as a Family Guy fan, please throw all chairs at Spawn for saying uselessness not at me. I think Family Guy is clever on is remarks and people love the characters, people are catching on to it in the UK and the 4th Season should be airing on BBC Two by January hopefully. Other than that, I'm pissed because about 3 of my good ideas have been stolen... oh well.

If 'Family Guy' was uncensored, like the movie, then the quality would improve slightly.

This is why I don't come to these forums as often as I used to. (Although the real main reason is because of school.)

Read the goddamned rules.

But I don't want to sound too mean, as I was once new here and made mistakes. And I will probably be new to things in the future and also make mistakes.

So, to rephrase, please read the rules. (Someone should give you a link, because I'm not enough of a regular here to know what that link is.) Enjoy your stay here!

I sounded a bit mad because of circumstances surrounding my life right now.

Wow Eyedol, that's incredible. Even when you're mad, you're still incredibly polite. Go punch a hole in the wall immediately - don't wanna keep it bottled up forever!

FryBot0 - Here's the PEEL FAQ. Read it and learn how to function on a messageboard properly, you fucking horrible excuse for a member. As for becoming an Urban Legend - don't worry, I don't think you'll be around that long.

He just got banned from the no homers club forum.

5/5. I really like these Brian episodes. This was a classic episode. Stewie was great, Brian was awesome but sometimes the cutaways are too random that they're not funny. Highlights were Stewie losing his ear, Brian learning a lesson on life and Meg trying to be a lesbian.
