I loved it for a long time...but then it hit some major potholes* from which it didn't look like it was going to recover, and I stopped watching. It may have gotten back on track (judging from the "emu/cult" episode I caught, which was quite good), BUT I'm only watching one show on FOX from now on, and that one's "on hiatus." Might start watching KOTH in syndication...

*The constant feminization and humiliation of Bobby, his friend's ludicrous growth spurt, Peggy's growing insanity post-"jump," one completely stupid cliffhanger after another, and the refusal to let the Gribble-Redcorn affair just DIE. (It was funny at first, it was ultimately dealt with in a sensible fashion--but it kept rising back from the grave until I not only got tired of it, I wanted everyone involved to DIE.) My breaking point was when Bobby subjected himself to a fierce beating by a visiting football team (as the home team's mascot) in order to win back his father's "love." I thought the show was ridiculing "redneck" values (along with ultraliberal ones)--not celebrating them.

Hate is not a strong enough word.  It is the only show i have ever watched (when i still watched the Simpsons) that makes me want to inflict greivous bodily injury to all of the characters.  If you ever saw Beavis and Butthead, Hank has the exact same voice as the biggest loser Mr. Anderson.  i do not like the rural Texas setting and the events that go on in their lives.  The characters are truly annoying.  Furthemore i find it in no way funny.  I also hate it for getting more promotion and a better timeslot in the US than Futurama. No character on the show has a real personality, or if they do it is some lame stereotype.  Then again, i never aspire to sell propane and/or propane accessories.

It just isn't very good, sure there are a few laughs but not many. I think it is just an animated sitcom  :(

I hate it.  I hate the characters and the animation, it still looks too much like Beavis & Butthead. Which also sucked, IMO.  I also hate the setting, Texas, also pointed out by Noone. And I hate the storylines too.  Those stupid father-son things to name some.

Odds of Bobby becoming a homosexual... 1:2
Odds of Hank having a heart attack when Bobby comes out... 1:4
Odds of Bill being Bobby's sugar daddy... 1:7
Odds of Peggy also being gay... 1:5

The show was ok when it came out, but went downhill after that whole Megalow mart incident.(wasn't it obvious that the secondary character would die?)  The characters aren't likeable at all (especially Peggy).

I hate it, I just find it really slow and boring. The fact that it's still on instead of Futurama makes me hate it even more.

I liked it at first, but I stopped watching shortly after the second season. I can still handle an episode or two in syndication every once in a while.

I completely agree with BrainSluggo on the John Redcorn thing. I can't believe they are still running that bit into the ground. It's sad. Let it go, writers.

It was good at the beginning, but I lost interest after the second season. I give it an OK -1, because most of the show looks stiff and sterile to me. The only guy that makes me laugh occasionaly is Dale for his witty remarks (the conspiracy theory freak).

King of the Hill was at it's best during it's first two seasons, like the middle seasons of the Simpsons, not only was it funny, but the stories were well constructed.  The Mega-lo-Mart cliffhanger was absolutely stunning, and the 5 month wait for the follow up was agonizing.

But when I saw the follow up, my thought at the episode's end was "meh".  And it was downhill from then on.  The third season was okay (the firefighting episode was really good), but then it ended with that stupid "Peggy falls out of a plane" cliffhanger.  Do the words "Jump the Shark" mean anything?

By the fourth season it had pretty much descended into stupidity.  The characters were now caricatures of their former selves, and the plots got increasingly off the wall- "Bill and Dale get stuck in a hoeback!"  "Hank goes psycho over the Millenium!"  "That fucking propane dancing troupe!"

When it came time for the fifth season I just gave up and watched the more intellectual "Married With Children".

I love it. I live in Texas so that might be it. But the characters are very depthful. The first reason people say they hate it is because they only saw the first episode. Then the redneck effect begn to ware off. It is realistic and believable.

Every time I watch it KOTH was unrealistic and not believable because of that guy with the gray glass that smokes all the time I don't his name but reminds me of dumb season 11 Homer Simpson for some odd reason.

Yeah, Dale was the best character by a mile.  Trouble is later episodes focused almost exclusively on Hank's deadly dull family.

I don't like texas, I don't like hicks, I don't like the tub of fat kid, I don't like most of the voice actors (lauren tom included, assuming she does the voice of that whiny 10 year old girl), I don't like king of the hill.  I think it is one of the most offensive shows on tv, and I have felt that way _every_ time I manage to watch about 3 minutes before throwing up all over the tv.  This is the only show on television I would pay to see burn in flames.

edit: I mean I don't like how the voice actors do the characters; I don't dislike the actors themselves (well maybe whoever does fatty)

I've seen some good episodes.  However the show overall is really annoying to watch.  Aside from Hank and Dale the characters are either boring like Boomhower, Connie, Hanks co-workers, most of the minor characters really.  or so fucking stupid you want to kill them like Bill, Peggy, Bobby, Luann.  Recent episodes have been really bad even for KOTH standards.  I pretty much wrote the whole thing off after that dog sqaredancing ep.  :nono:  I was gonna give it an OK -1, but upon reflection, I hate it.

i strongly dislike it. i've seen a bunch of eps, mostly because my x-roommate was a texan and watched it. It's real boring. about the only thing good about it is it gives me time to rewind my futurama tape and rewatch that nights ep without worrying about missing anything good on.

I like the show, but have to admit that it can be hit or miss most of the time. I do think, though, that the show is much funnier if you'v known someone like any of the characters (which unfortunately I have), or if you've had a lot of exposure to "Texas culture..."  ;)
