So, now that Family Guy's offically gone, what do you think of it? I think it absolutely rocked, if you're still not convinced by my post at the other thread.

It was great fun, not as good as South Park, Futurama or the Simpsons but still good fun.

I liked it, but it just wasn't in the same class as Futurama, etc. I never went out of my way to watch it, probably saw a total of 4 episodes. Pretty lowbrow humor.

I enjoyed FG.  I never went out of my way to watch it each Thursday, I just downloaded the episodes.  I don't get all the hostility surrounding it (yes dancers, that means you) - I admit it was silly but I found it fun to watch.  I'll miss it.

waiter: "it sucked, party of two."

i wouldn't call it hostility so much as sheer joy at actually being able to do something that we talked about a while ago.

I voted for "it rocked".  But I don't really think it rocked by far.  I didn't really catch the show all the time but whenever I saw it on, I watched.   It was entertaining but not really the best TV program out there.  I'm sad that it died so soon, but I'd rather Dilbert or God the Devil and Bob to come back than it.

Their humor's just lowbrow, but it's done in a clever Dadaist style that finds something for everyone to chuckle about.

There were few shows that could guarantee me an honest, non-gross-out laugh a minute.  Come to think of it, Family Guy is the only show that did that.  Futurama and (to a lesser extent) the earlier Simpsons didn't have the screwball antics that Family Guy had.  By the time the Simpsons became the vapid wasteland of pure idiocy that it is, Family Guy was on hiatus.  Family Guy's biggest failing was Stewie (the baby, for those of ou who haven't seen the show but still hate it), but he still worked well as Brian's (the dog) foil (one that serves as a contrast to another).

So wait, are you saying that Stewie was a bad thing for the show or a good thing, because i think he was one of the best things about the show. He thinks everything's an enemy and watching him trying to conquer it is hilarious.

Still dancin, dancin, dancin... Itv wasn't funny at all. The humour was very low brow... I guess it wasn't for me.

South Park is low-brow, disgusting humor.  Family Guy was just a cavalcade of hilarious site gags.

Family Guy is cool, that is why I got series one on video today  :D I already have all but two episodes of the first four series of South Park and the Movie so clearly I disagree about it being disgusting. Now I'm waiting for series one of Futurama next month  :D

I'll admit, I laughed at the first episode of Family Guy. Some of the stand-alone gags are funny, but the characters are all annoying and sucky. I may have pointed this out before, but the whole show seems like a dozen writers pitching jokes to me...one might occasionally be funny, but more often than not it's just an annoying, substanceless waste of time.

Unless I misunderstood, and this whole thread is really about that Nicolas Cage movie where he's married to Tea Leoni. That movie was alright.

I have never, ever seen (or heard about) Family Guy, but I hope Fox'll transfer some of the saved money to Futurama (Yeah, right  that'll be the day)

Anyway, annoying characters and class-free humor, but I was constantly laughing (or staring at the screen in disbelief, wondering how one phrase or another made it through the censors)

I didn't even know it was gone, but it wasn't one of my faves. They could understand the dog, but acted as if they couldn't hear Stewie.

My hatred was turning into apathy for a while, but then a couple friends of mine forced me to sit down and watch half of the two-hour marathon that came on last thursday. I now officially hate Family Guy again.

I never really got into Family Guy, it annoys me for some reason even though its low brow humor as you people call it, and I usually like that sort of thing but it just seemed forced and nothing I haven’t seen a 1000 times on some other show.

Alll rigghhhtyyy then Family Guy was the funniest show i have EVER seen there were just so many jokes packed into every episode.  "Did somebody say KRUSCHEV? Quit your STALIN and grab your MARCS"  come on it was so random and funny.  I loved the refernces to Tron and Spider man, and how they made fun of everything regradless of its political correctnes.  "And now to weather with Blackie,  (shouts) ITS GONNA RAIN"  the asian reporter god it was funny.  Now dont get me wrong i like futurama better than Family guy but for straight out laughs i thought Family guy was the best.  Maybe because I got almost all of the Hidden jokes, it seem to be aimed right at my age group! Oh well it was a good show but I think it just offended to many people

Family Guy should be getting a second chance on UPN.  Unfortunately, we all saw what happened when The PJs got that same second chance...  :(
