I prefer the 6 buttons myself. They're smaller, and the 3 extra buttons were always a must for mortal k.

I got the Futurama wall calendar finally yesterday. I've been eyeing it off every time I walked past the caledar booths (why does a calendar salesperson needed to wear an aprin...?) and now that it's almost 2008 the calendars are half price so I figured it was about time.

It was tempting but I couldn't justify the cost. I've heard the 2nd disc online and it's good, but not as good as the main disc...

Velour:I like it a lot, at first i was thinking, "woah, it's tiny!" but now that i'm used to it, the size is perfect. I'm using it more for video editing and general mouse replacement, not photoshop, so the size might be more important for someone who does use photoshop. The buttons and wheel up the top are good. A+! [This message has been edited by chay's head (edited 01-13-2008).]

Yeah, I have a Wacom 2 from a few years ago which I never used more than as a novelty as my graphic work tends more towards vectors and I can do that with a mouse more easily. I'm really interested in Wacom's move into the bigger mainstream market though. See how it goes. . .

What is that, the comic book manga or a dvd box of a series?

Aah. Awesome. I picked up the hardcover when it came out, since I'd loved American Gods. If I had the $$ there's at least a hundred books I'd love to have in hardcover... similar note, I have a first edition of O.S.Card's Lost Boys I found in a salvation army store for $2. Very happymaking.

It's a seperate movie, a direct follow-on from the end of Stand Alone Complex second Gig and following the TV show's continuity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell:_S.A.C._Solid_State_Society [This message has been edited by coldangel_1 (edited 01-14-2008).]

It won't. Or if it does it won't last. That's pretty much the reason why I bought mine.

The MacBook Air is kindof overhyped. Yes, it's very light and thin... and it comes with a max. 80 gig HD and no CD drive. My fav. is that all the promotional stuff talks about "solid-state storage, no moving parts!" but they don't tell you that's only on the 3K version, the 1.8K version has a conventional (if compact) hard disk. And by upgrading to the 3K version, you LOSE 16 gigs of HD in exchange for going solid state. This is what I love about Apple. They get a revolutionary idea, study/research it, find that it is too expensive for the market. Rather than just wait, like most companies, they ask: "How can we make a cheaper, more half-assed implementation of this technology?" Once they've got an idea, they spend a fortune making it as sexy as possible, while spending an even larger fortune on commercials that make it look even sexier than it actually is, and multiply the reasonable MSRP by 2 for the first six months. iPhone is very, very sexy... but their bunled service plan tries to rape you, and at launch the markup on them was disgusting. The iPod Touch potentially gave 90% of the experience, so they crippled it by removing most of the software as well as the camera and bluetooth. Can't have it cannibalizing iPhone sales, and if it had bluetooth, peple would make VOIP aps for it and not need iPhones at all. And if that happens, they won't get to rape anyone at all! And on the tablets... 4K? really? why so expensive? You can get a pretty nice tablet PC, or a laptop/tablet convertable model, for less than half that. Mine (Toshiba Portege M200) was only $1800 and I've had it a few years... [This message has been edited by Gopher (edited 01-16-2008).]

Also the lack of ports. There's just one USB port, and the video output is on a nonstandard connector. Maybe this thing will take off better when Wireless USB is more common.
