NO! YOU MUST CHOOSE! CHOOSE OR DIE! CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUOOOOOOOOO SE! Your favourite one. Also, I'm aware of the irony in the title and the poll, and also of that errant question mark that somehow appeared at the end of the title.

I've never played any of them. Is the " Final Fantasy" a joke, since there's a dozen of them or whatever.

I'm a PC Player to the core really.
Also I'm sure most Final Fantasy games since 7 also are released onto the PC also?

Squaresoft was not always the monstrous success it now is - they were in fact in danger of going out of business when they released Final Fantasy. The game was likely to be Squaresoft's last game ever, so they called it Final Fantasy. Imagine their surprise when it saved the company.
And only 7 and 8 were released to PC.

I voted for the Wii.
1- Because I like the idea of change. The gyros seem like an intuitive yet delicate way to control your games. Instead of ever-increasing numbers of buttons to push.
2 - And the Wii is cheaper. I am not a professional video game player, I don't need to buy the most expensive most powerful system out there.
3 - I don't have a big beautiful hdtv, so I don't care much for HD capability. Buying an hdtv ($1000 or so) isn't on my agenda, so buying a system based on its hd capability would be pretty pointless.
4 - I'm not even convinced that Blu-ray is going to be a popular format. People tell me the Blu-ray is a great feature, any other blu-ray player would cost far more, etc. But I'm not buying a player that might not be compatible with the popular format 3 years from now, no matter how great a deal they tell me it is.
5 - Please don't flame me. I'm a relatively casual gamer. I never even bought a gamecube, xbox, or ps2. If you prefer another console, that's your prerogative. I just wanted to offer the viewpoint of someone who isn't going to shell out $2300 to buy a system, games, controllers, accessories, and a matching hdtv.

I can explain Sony's thought process with this simple yet effective graph: They seem not to have gathered that instead of spending my £2000 on a HDTV and their console, I'm going to buy an infinitely more useful PC. Woooo! I gotted the PC version of True Crime: Streets of LA. Contrary to popular belief amongst idiots and my younger brother, that is in fact pronounced "El - Ay" and not "Laaaaaaaaa". The game's selling point was it's 240m2 city. That's wonderful. Now where's my magical supersonic helicopter? On a slightly lighter note: PC FTW!!!!11

That graph is the best thing I've ever saw.
On a sidenote, I'd get a Wii too. I'm a casual gamer who looks for fun and I have a better history with Nintendo consoles than anything else. I'd get it for the next serious Mario game too.

Seriously, quit bitching! Things cost money, stop being poor or get over it. I've been searching for a clever and incisive way to point out your logical flaw, but nothing's coming to me. So I'll just spit it out. If you're talking to people and telling them to stop being poor, maybe you shouldn't follow it with a suggestion to spend literally thousands of dollars on electronics. I don't consider indicriminate squandering on luxuries to be a good way to become wealthy. Maybe I'm just missing some subtle point you're trying to make. Or are you suggesting we wave magical fairy wands to immediately quadruple our incomes? edit - FJ - Well let's see. With $600 (plus games plus controllers plus accessories plus a HDtv) you could... Put it towards a house Put it towards a car Invest it in a retirement account Save it for your kids' college Pay off miscellaneous debts, thus saving on the interest Buy a new computer which you'll use for purposes besides gaming buy a couple of years worth of gym membership. Which a lot of people who happily fork out a thousand dollars to play video games on HDtv could REALLY use.

Just like people who get cars and clothes and jewelry they can't afford and never save any money are rich, right?
Obviously, he was playing around. But I reserve the right to expound on a topic that interests me. And the way people waste money does interest me.

So after a little more research, I've discovered that you can buy hdtvs online for "reasonable" prices. Froogle shows them as starting at $250 for a bottom of the line 27" CRT hdtv. Let's assume if you're gonna buy hdtv, you'll want something a tad better. We'll say you buy a conservatively priced $400 tv, after shipping and handling's figured in.
$600 console $350 worth of games over a few months, at $70 each. 5 games is pretty bare-bones anyhow. Why get an expensive console if you're only going to have a few games? $100 worth of controllers, memory cards, what have you. Sundries. $400 tv
$1450, plus 7% sales tax (7% is New York's sales tax rate and NY is where I live, so I'm using it).
Bottom line: $1551 spent on video games. And this isn't a fancy setup. Add $500 if you wanna get a nicer (but still nowhere near high-end) tv. Add $350 to get up to 10 games. Add fees for online play. Plus tax of course. Plus whatever you want to spend on sound system and other accessories like a headset for online play. It could come up to $2500 easily.
Or I could buy a Wii, keep my current 28" tv, buy the games for $10 less apiece, pick up the controllers and accessories, and invest the remaining $1500 more wisely.
