Okay, Comic Relief is coming up (March the 11th) for us in the UK (and maybe the World, I don't really know)
and what are YOU going to do on it? Remember, this is for charity so it doesn't matter how old you are or what you do go nuts. I've decided 'what the hell' this year and am going to take part.

What am I going to do you ask? Well, I call it project Darksabre but in laymans terms I am going to get a full Darth Vader costume.

EDIT: Here's what the costume I will hire out will look like.
 http://img135.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img135&image=untitled6yv.png

I already have made note of a local fancy dress shop a few towns down, but I still need help on:

The Voice, I want a mad Vader voice amp. Anyone know where I can get one of these, either in the UK or online?

An angle: I cannot decide to be serious Vader or Episode III: A lost Hope Vader.

Something to put on this!: http://sequential.lunarpages.net/Emperor_Stationary.jpg

Feel free to give me and other people planning stuff suggestions.

Don't screw with this holiday.  It is on my B-Day.  Just goes to show I'm nerdy.

Seriously people, I'm looking for suggestions and a little help. I really need that Vader voice amp. If nobody can't find that, maybe just the breather sound effects?

Planning to reserve the costume for today.

I plan to act a little bit like Hayden/Ani inspired by this lovely creation.

I've never heard of these voice amp thingies, but maybe you could do something like tape a bunch of Vader quotes, and just rewind and play for people to think you can actually do the voice. Or you could just try the Vader voice yourself. Bad impressions aren't too hard.  :p

Comic Relief/Red Nose Day isn't a holiday, it's a charity telathon thing that comes round every two years. It's customary to buy the "Red Nose" for charity (Different every time).

Charity Velour, I thought you Catholics knew what it was. For the unlucky children in life.

I'm not the only one, but I want to be original. Everyone else is going for a mild overused idea (Dyed Hair) or an overused one (Males in drag, Girls dressed as slut etc).

I've also always wanted to do this.

Good for you Nurdy  :) I hope you manage to raise some cash for charity and have fun doing it.

This years red noses are rather odd, they have hair that gets in the wearer's eyes  :p

Tweek: Thanks.

Funny enough, one of my younger cousans was born on Red Nose Day too.

Perfect excuse to corrupt him and bring him to the geek side.

I might ask if I can have two Lightsabres from the costume shop, so people can dual me and see if they can win.

I'm actually excited to hear about someone doing something for charity.  Nurdy is such a good person, and he will do well in life; maybe he won't prosper financially, or physically... or anything that matters, but he will do well  :)

Good luck to you Nurdy on your path of spiritual helpiness!

So, what exactly are you gonna do?  Walk through the centre of town with a collecting bucket?  Whacking people over the head if they don't donate? or if they do?

Nurdy, I know what charity is, duh. I've just never heard of your crazy UKian holiday and I don't understand how it works. I don't make fun of you for not understanding American stuff like... um... deep fried twinkies.

Velour: We have something like that, though Marsbars may be different.

Melll: It's on my College Campus.

Speli: I go for the eyes, they least expect it.

Nurdy, we have Mars bars. But uh...I'd call it more of a candy bar and not a twinkie.

So this holiday really exists right? You're sure it's not nothin?

That doesn't answer my question.

It's technically not a holiday (we still have to work), it's just a day for people to make idiots out of themselves for charity, all in the name of comedy.

It's a chance to act like a complete idiot for an entire day and have an excuse. That's good enough.
I think Australia needs a bit of this "holiday".  ;)

Bah, Melll sounds like a bitter old man. Hehe, someone needs to revisit the mosh pit of there youth.

I don't see anything wrong with it, and the end of the day people less fortunate get cash.

Also, I still cannot believe
how hard it is to find a Vader Voice amp on the internet.

Their.

My question was, what exactly are you doing - walking around with a collecting bucket?  Getting dressed up as Vader doesn't qualify you for a donation, in my book.  :p

People get dressed as all sorts of things apparently. Or dye there hair. Or get sponsered for doing something silly. I've seen the official list of what people are gonna dress up at College, and there's plenty of Soldiers, School Girls and Neon green heads.

If nobody gives money to me, I'll poke them in the eye with my plastic lightsabre.

You should dress as a nazi, and say you're dressed as Prince Harry.  :p

My point is, in order to seperate you from the prolls at your college, you should have some kind of sponsored challege, like seeing how many tutors you can whack with your light saber, charge a quid for each.

There's nothing funnier than mindless violence towards authority figures.

Mmmm, maybe I should Melllvar. That sounds pretty tempting.

Though I'm worried due to my size people will be saying 'aren't you too short to be Vader?'.

Vader voice kit: But it requires that you whip out the soldering iron. Also, I don't know if it'lll ship to UK.
People tend to like this kit better if you get some foam for the mic and some cloth to put in front of the speaker.
A suggestion: Get some portable speakers and an mp3 player with the Imperial March, so you can play it while you stride onwards. (The height will add to the comic value)

We have red nose day, but it's usually in June or July (I always get those two mixed up) and it's a fundraiser for SIDS. We just buy red noses/ red nose accessories and the money goes to the SIDS foundation.
