From what I read his nephew, Jeff Sotzing, didn't say why or when he died, just that he passed away this morning.

Has anybody else noticed that the General Disscussion Forum has suddenly been rejuvinated?

I mean, more people have been posting there recently than I've seen since I've joined.

It's a good thing, as there have been a few discussions about the Futurama sections dying.

I don't really see how the Futurama sections wouldn't be dying. I mean, the show is cancelled, so how many times can you possibly "Re-check/Weird Scenes"? How many new websites are going to be made to post in "Websites/Reviews"? It's disappointing, but one can only handle so many "I heard Futurama is coming back!!!!one" threads.
