Well if the weather permits it tomorrow, at half 12, Faze should be airborne in a helicopter for half an hour...

I suppose I should actually get some sleep, boy would my face be read if the black box reveals a lot of yawning and then:
"zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... *KERPPOOSSHHH*!!!"

So in case you don't hear from me:

I'm optimistic that tomorrow, I'll get my coat back from the taxi driver. If, that is, the next person to use that taxi didn't pick it up off the floor where it fell, and decide to keep it. Thank God it didn't have anything in it except an empty crisp packet.

I've only just realised that it's missing. Karma, I suppose. That's what I get for buggering off and leaving people in the town centre at five past twelve.

It's wierd, I had 2 t-shirts stolen from my washing line a couple years ago, 2 of my favourite ones, but I didn't realise one was missing until about a week later, and the other one only just recently.... :nono:

Well, I'm really proud of myself for what I've done today. It may not seem much to you, but I've managed to complete my Bedlam Cube after 13 years!      :D

I was 7 years old when I got it as a Christmas present off my uncle. I unwrapped it, but then my spoilt bratty little cousin snatched it off me, took the lid off and tipped it out all over the floor. I never got the chance to see how it was put together, and I've never been able to do it since. I'd had many many attempts over the years but just gave it up as a bad job and stored it away. I was cleaning my wardrobe out today and opened up a box and found it in the bottom. I decided to have another play around with it as its been years since I'd tried, and I finally managed to do it, woo! 13 years down the line. In your face you stupid bratty little cousin whom I've always hated      :D

Well, I got my coat back. It's got a muddy footprint on the back, and smells like a cheap cigar, but otherwise it's fine.

I've now bought my own webhosting and a domain name for my website, because Alltoons has degenerated so badly and is now deleting my site (see rant thread). So i've finally got my own webhosting, with my own control over it!

I never realized how much I love school until I left it.  Stupid kids, I'd send them to day care year-round if I could.

Also, I start school (again) tomorrow.  I look forward to seeing my favorite teacher.  I'm sure he still won't let me live down that time I was sleeping in his class, but he's a decent person and a cop's cop, I deserve nothing less than being the butt of his jokes until someone else trumps my mid-class snooze.

Also, my handlebar bracket arrived today so I could fix and ride my motorcycle.

Also also, the bratty dork next door told me I'm doing much better on my bike.  That's just what I need, an ego boost from someone I'd just as soon feed to radioactive piranhas as I would look at.

Also to the Maxx, I had a training session today for the new computer systems at work.  It's pretty cool.  It's like the old system but without the dot-matrix printer.  I'll miss Old Noisy, but we've got to wake up and join the future.

My boss gave me the keys to the office for me to be in charge tomorrow while he is out on an important message. My jobs for tomorrow are answering the telephone and printing out some letters and sorting out the papers in order so that they can be sent off to the customers who want to join the course. I feel nervous about tomorrow but I am sure that I will be fine

Damn right! All these rants I read from kids hating school piss me off, I would love to be back in school! Okay, school itself sucks but I'd love the oppurtunity to act like a kid again, homework that does not take up every waking moment, and to be free from responsibilities like financing and getting a job and stuff.

It was cool being a smartass at school too 'cause you pissed other people off. At Uni, people like it because it draws attention away from them.

I went past my old high school on the bus this afternoon. I hadn't been passed in ages and ages and thought "Maaaan, I'm so happy I came through the other side of that adventure alive and partially intact"

I'd never wanna go back there, and high school was definately not one of the 'best times of my life' as so many people like to refer to it as.

I can relate to that... but everything suddenly got better in the sixth form (the morons exited stage left after sitting their O levels). But I couldn’t go back to my high school now even if I wanted to: it’s been demolished and replaced by a housing development. Went to a reunion just before they pulled it down, but the one person I was hoping to see didn’t show... guess I was being too optimistic there.

Sure I have lots to do now, but it's so much better than school (also high school). It pisses me off every time people talk about the good old days - for me there was nothing good about it. I hated the teachers, the other kids, everything. I hated it so much that when I got home, it was very important for me not to think about it at all so that school wouldn't infect my home with suckage.

I have to say, school hasn't been as bad as I thought so far. My schedule is set up in a way so any academic classes I have are in the morning and I always finish with electives. It's pretty cool actually.

So that's my optimism...maybe school won't suck so bad?

I bet a month later I'll read this post and go "Man, what was I thinking?"

School's slightly (Keyword: SLIGHTLY) better than expected. Mostly since I sit next to one of my friends in the only class we have together.

I saw Robbie Williams penis for the first time!

I went to the shops today and I was looking through the Heat Magazine and one of the articles showed a picture of Robbie completely naked and he was holding his penis. The picture was from his new book “Feel”.

When I saw the picture my eye were wide open and I got excited. I was trying to not to let people know that I am aroused. I quickly put the magazine in the basket finished off my shopping and went out of the shops. I was saying oh my god in my mind.

I am definitely going to get his book

High school is actually quite nice. If you sift through the clones you find some good people. I was so happy to meet these other girls who like Futurama and Family Guy. And lucky enough to meet one who likes Dead Like Me. So now I'm pretty optimistic about going through school.

I was pleased to hear a few days ago that I'm "fitting in nicely" with my shift.  I'm not really a popularity whore, but I am relieved.  I have become too aware of the venomous enmity that my coworkers exhibit against those they dislike while not in their presence.  Of course, it could be that they're boldface lying, but they usually don't do that.

I found my wallet today! It had three-hundred dollars that I was going to use for Futurama Adventures and #19, so I am quite happy.

And school.....

The saying each and everything has a counterpart is quite true. Futurama has Family Guy, matter has antimatter, etc. In school this is quite true as well.
Lets, see here:

1. I have a lot more homework before.
1. On the other hand, the teachers are a lot better.

2. I have a lot more stress from school than before.
2. The cafeteria upgraded their food!

3. My homeroom class is terrible.
3. My SS teacher is great!

4. My morning bus ride is terrible.
4. My afternoon one is fun.

Etc.

Well now it's Sunday, and I'm about to go running. Life is good, I guess.

Things have been looking up for me lately. Last night, I was messing with my earrings and... discovered a new hole. It ends up I have eight piercings in my right ear, instead of the seven I'd always thought. It was bizarre but great.

I'll be legal in four days, and I'll be leaving my mom, brother, and constantly smoking neighbors for college in two weeks. I'm so terrified excited!

School does indeed suck. I hated it then and I still do now. The reason I prefer work is it is more focused. I start the day at 7am and finish at 5.30, and after that the time is mine. In school often you'd end up with a couple of days with no homework, then loads all in one go. Coursework used to mount up terribly. Just the sheer fact that I had no friends, my acquintences all hated me (no paranoia, one spread around a chat log where I threatened to commit suicide to the whole year) and my parents were constantly pressurising me into sociable situations, which I sucked at. I think it might have affected me somewhat, since even though I know college would give me much better options, I don't want to go to uni if it's the last thing I do. Just stepping into uni to see my brother's graduation ceremonies caused me to nearly breakdown both times.

I have optimism though. The guitar player comes back to England tomorrow so looks like band practices are now off hiatus, and my sports training is coming on excellently. Yay  :D

It seems like only yesterday that I was offered a job with the [REDACTED], but I was going through my papers and realized it was exactly one year ago tomorrow.  It's sort of strange to still be the newest guy in the group.  There have been several cadets that have come aboard since my hiring, but cadets hardly count.

I also found $14 worth of change in my locker tonight.  Score!

I don't really hate school but... I don't really look foward to it. I mean I have a job at Gamestop (Video Game Store) and I look foward to my shift. But with school I enjoy but it does nothing for me other than the fact that I need to be what I want to be which is a cartoonist. I guess I don't really need school then.

Reasons I like work more than school:

-I feel useful. What I do at work helps other people. It doesn't mean shit if I don't do anything at school.
-The people at work don't judge you for what you're into, they judge you for your personality. Because of this, I have no problems with anyone I work with.
-Time always goes by faster.
-Working makes me feel in shape. I've definetely got more muscle tone now than I did a year ago.
-I sometimes get free food.
-It's often shorter.
-I get paid.
-I don't get forced to contact people, but then again, I have no problems with anyone I work with. Nobody asks you questions all the time, they just let you do your job.
-Managers are more friendly than teachers. In my experience anyway.

Oh wait, this is the optimistic thread. Well, earlier this week, one of my friends(who was the bass player for my last band) asked me to be in a band with him again. Us two, and a drummer playing fast and scary music(me on the guitar). I also have another friend I'm working on a two-piece bass and drum thing with where I play drums. I don't have my own set, but he does and I can just play over there. Listening to music is something I love...playing it is something I love even more.

Yes, work is better for the reasons you mentioned above. For some reason I think managers are friendlier than teachers. Thats probably because they don't have deal kids all day.

Managers are better than teachers for a variety of reasons, the primary of which being, you don't have to be there. Teachers can treat you like crap all day and if you argue then you're called up for insubordination and the parents come in and you're grounded from all bad influences for seventeen years. Managers on the other hand would see all their staff walk out and then be called into question by their managers when they are asked why staff turnover is so high. Retail work generally has a high turnover anyway and making it higher than necessary costs a lot of money.

Also staff tend to be constructive rather than argumentative. They want to make their own jobs easier, unlike schoolkids who seems to want to make everyone else's jobs harder so everyone can be held back to their level.

I had a gig on Wednesday and tonight and both went down really well. The previous two gigs were utter crap and seriously disappointed me, but after a pretty enjoyable gig on Wednesday and having a sizeable audience today really put up my confidence. We played a very tight set, and the feedback I got was that we sounded great off-stage- for once, the mix was perfectly balanced. Now I'm feeling pretty confident about a gig this Friday (supporting the Nightingales) and one a couple of weeks after. After a really dreary summer for us, the end of the year may work out very well (especially if we get into the Leicester Comedy Festival  :D).

On schools: My school years weren't the best of life either, but knowing what I do now, I would love to go back and do things differently. I can't, but at least other kids have a chance to make the most of their childhood. This is the one time in your life that you can screw up and not worry about it because it won't matter in the long term. You don't realise it at the time, but once you leave school things change. People you used to know disappear, your attitudes change- whatever happened in school simply won't matter anymore. I wish I'd known that, so I would enjoyed myself instead of trying to fit in and suchlike.

I sort of miss jobs with physical activity.  I'm sure I could do my current job by plugging my brain directly into the Matrix the CAD system.  I never thought I'd miss hoisting fifty pound cases of baked beans over my head, but here I am.

Work tonight was smooth sailing.  No major incidents were reported, no major assholes had to be dealt with, and I had a Jet Boat for dinner.  Mmm...pizza-esque foods.
