Look at stolb3rg right here - so much for Tweek's statement "people have avatars". He doesn't. As long as there's no thread for people to ask for help, it will cause a lot of incovience.

Here is the checklist:

• They must be a .gif
• They must be 64x64 pixels in size
• They must be transparent
• They can not be animated
• Should be no greater then 3.4KB
• Should be scanned, no cutting out from framegrabs
• Should be of a decent quality, bad avatars will not be uploaded
• Should face the right

To the others: Sorry that I commented on that

stolb3rg, there is no GIF because of a patent that UNISYS held on the compression algorithm LZW held up until recently.  (LZW is the compression used by GIF, and compress)  Just save it as a PNG, making sure you have it in "Indexed" colour (if you're using GIMP), first.  IIRC, you're allowed to use PNGs, but most people use GIFs.  There's a big long argument on the GIF vs. PNG wars, but PNG wins on all but the animation front.  (For which there is a lesser known MNG format)

Oh yeah, slimmy, I remember writing something to fix this avatar problem about three months ago.  All it needed was a bit of tweaking to work with UBB (as it's closed source, so I don't know how it handles it's flat files).  I'll find it if you want me to.
