Some of you have heard that I live up at The Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center, the ambassedor wolf Chinook has just died because of her stomach turned. I'm depressed now and might drown myself in the tub thinking about her. Any suggestions on how I can grive?

well... you could maybe not drown yourself, but it'll be ok, after awhile you'll be fine again.

She's cavorting through the cosmos now. I'm sure she's having a hell of a lot more fun on the other side than she did on this rock.

But the thing is her boyfriend is really (and I mean really) in love with her. Now that she's dead he'll die of a lonely-broken-heart. THere has already been 3 other deaths up there, although we can't prove that 2 of them are really dead. I just don't want to be happy right now. Plus I didn't drown other wise I wouldn't have written this.

It's a wolf. Her "boyfriend" will find another mate from either this flock or another.

Sorry that she had to die though. Sounds kinda horrible.

I hope the pain goes away eventually Spacedal, I know how much it hurts to lose a loved animal (As do probably many other PEELers) so maybe if you feel really sad about it you could talk to somebody. I mean like a friend or loved one, not on PEEL.

First try spelling 'grief' right.

Next, stop thinking about drowning yourself as its the pussy way out.

And am I right in believing that this a wolf, as in dog wolf?
If so then it sounds then the wolf will be fine.

Also this sort of thing happens daily and we've all experienced it (especially with my pet cats).

I also agree with Mole, PEEL is not the place to discuss these sort of matters as you will get people like me who have better things to worry about such as fixing the head gasket on my car so I can get to and from work.

Apologies for the heartless comment but thats just the way I feel.

OK it's a wolf. She was a hybrid but mostly wolf.

My mom and I have talked it over already.

She wasn't particulery "my" wolf but she is the reason for the being of the Wolf Center.

And you're right this does happen a lot up here cause a percentige of the wolves are old.

And don't judge me of how I spell it's bad enough that a beloved friend own mine is dead!

But thank you.

PEEL is a fine place to talk about this, nerdlingus. Where else can she see how much support she has so quickly?

@Spacedal: I'm sorry this had to happen. I personally don't know what it's like to lose a pet (Is that the right term? You know what I mean anyway). But I do know that things always get worse before they get better. Things get a whole lot worse, things will get a whole lot better. You just have to hang in there.

Anyway, I'm very sorry for your loss.  Losing a loved one, human or animal, is never easy.  You have my sympathies through this tough time.

Yeah, sorry about that, mornings arn't my specialty although I still think suicide is the pussy way out.  :)

It is nice to hear someone else goes out of their way to help animals.
Keep it up.  :)
