Loons, which are big goose-sized diving birds. I see them in NY canoeing trips and hiking trips around the adirondacks. Red squirrels and chipmunks, because they're so dern spunky and energetic. And cute. Striped Bass! Fun fishing, they get to be like 5 feet long sometimes, and they're built like (American) football linebackers. My best was about 44 inches, caught off the coast of New Hampshire, I let it go free to make baby stripers. This guy's holding a Maryland state record striper. over 47 pounds. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/recreational/tournamen t/staterecords/striped%20bass%20state%20rec%202000cr.jpg And of course... Dogs (real dogs, none of that Toy poodle/chihuahua/ankle shark business). I like dogs that can run and play and climb mountains and guard the house and chase frisbees. Cats can be alright. But if you let them out, they eat poison or get eaten by something bigger, or get run over by cars, or catch diseases. Not to mention they're dirty. Their teeth and claws cause infections, Unless you change that box every single time the cat uses it their paws are filthy from their stepping and scratching around in the litterbox... and then they get up on the furniture and up on you. Nasty. At least a well-trained dog doesn't jump on you unless asked to. And badgers, just for their attitude. They're about the closest thing Europe has to wild bears these days.

Can I get a round of applause for the manatee? Not my favourite animal per se, but a very cool one nonetheless.

Here is a picture of a tardigrade, also known as a water bear. These microscopic animals can be found just about anywhere. There are probably some right in your own back yard. Aside from the fact that they resemble gummi bears, what makes these animals so interesting is their ability to survive in just about any conditions that nature or laboratory experimenters can throw at them. When the environment becomes inhospitable, a water bear goes into a state of suspended animation. In this state, the water bear is nearly impervious to harm. Water bears can survive very high and very low temperatures, a complete lack of moisture, high pressure, acid, high levels of radiation, even a vacuum. They can remain in their suspended state for years at a time. Once conditions become favorable again, a drop of water is all it takes for a water bear to revive completely.

Bunny, bunny, bunny! I like bunnies! also, I love my cat and dog, so cats and dogs are in! As for wild animals, I'd hafta say manatees and tigers. And of course...the NORTH ATLANTIC PUFFIN! My favorite bird. Here's my puffin story! We went to Maine to see them, and we got on a boat even though it was stormy and the boat was like wooOOOooooahhHh duuuuudue back and fourth and stuff! and my uncle was like barfing the whole time...but anyway they said we'd be lucky if we saw one, but guess what?? The puffins love me! It's because I bought a fuzzy "Save the Puffins" hat. So alllll the puffins came out to see me and I was like YAY I LOVE YOU PUFFINS! </incoherent babbling>
