I'm sorry about your cats wu and impossible. When my cats died I was really sad, and I'd only had them for about 2 and a half years.  :(

Thanks. I think it'll be worse when I go home. You just become so familiar with having them around that it seems wrong when they are not.

The Egyptians considered cats to be sacred; they didn't worship them.  It's not quite the same thing.

It was more out of grief than respect; but yes, that's true.

We had him for 11 years and he always seemed happy. I'm really going to is that soppy ball of fluff.

You have my condolences, Wu.  I know how you feel.   :(

But don't shave off your eyebrows.   ;)

I did love my cat but I also love my eyebrows.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your cat Wu  :(

Losing a pet is a terrible thing. I hope you'll feel better soon. But at least he's not suffering now  :)

My cat died four or five years ago in March... I didn't shave my eyebrows but I spent about three hours crying like a little girl, because I loved the hairy little scavenger.

It's always upsetting to lose a pet, especially when it's a pet that returns your affection. The only consolation that you can have is that whilst they were with you, their lives were happy and complete. That they were, in their own way, dancing inside. Like the blue dude.

He's just like a pet to me... and I'm saving him to my hard drive now, so that I can post him whenever the need should arise!

Too boring for the link thread (so I chucked it here), but apparantly America's most hated inventions are the mobile phone, razors, microwaves, coffee pots and [shock] computers!  :)

I can understand mobile phones and maybe razors, but why the hell are those last three things on the list?

Aww, I know how that feels.  :( I had a cat all my life, and we had to put him down after 18 years (very old for a cat) from old age and got very sick- until he was just too sick to live. I miss him a lot, since he was with me all my life.

True Dilbert today - I was down working in a college theatre talking to the manager about a bank of power sockets we needed to use that he’d taped over…conversation went something like this:

Me: Why did you tape over the sockets?
Manager: They’re on two phases – there’s a risk of a 415 Volt shock.
Me: For that to happen you’d have to be touching both bars, the earth in both two plugs would have to fail at the same time, and the fuse box would have to be broken.
Manager: Yes, but there’s still a risk.
Me: But don’t you see – the risk is infinitely small! You’re far more likely to electrocute yourself on the standard sockets we have in here.
Manager: Oh…then we’d better tape over the standard sockets as well.
Me: But then we’d have no power at all!
Manager: But we'd be very safe...

am i the only one who thinks garfiels is in fact a pretty bad comic?
i can never laugh about the jokes, there are no profound ideas whatsoever and garfield is the only comic i've ever seen that manages to show exactly the same pic for 8 panels, with only the text in the bubble changing.
