Erm, what is that symbol in the title supposed to be?

Also, it's amazing that we're onto our 101st page. Aside from the test threads, and maybe the link/picture threads, has any other series lasted this long?

The kid who starred in Neverending Story killed himself recently. And you're cashing in on it, you bastard!

Also, Capistan and The Mad Capper have achieved ascendancy, and the citizens have become beings of pure energy, no longer needing land holdings or physical posessions.

NEWS REPORT

  • President declared MIA:

Reeding, New Cyberia -- As citizens wept throughout the United Federal States of New Cyberia, the former President of those esteemed States, Cyber Knight, was officially declared as Missing In Action by the Defence Secretary, the Vice-Commander of the Defence Force of New Cyberia.

Speaking after the declaration was officially signed, he said, "the loss of the President, a close personal friend, has saddened us all. We have held out hope long enough, and I think it is safe to say the President will never come home."

The President is believed to have perished at the bombing of a MuDeAl summit last week in Nixorbania. Several other world leaders have also perished, including the Premier of the People's Socialist Lands of Zedoljev.

However, his body has not yet been found. Military analysts play down this aspect of the situation, saying the President was most likely incinerated when the bomb struck the Nixorbanian Patrician Retreat.

With the declaration, the former Vice-President, Jack Baruk, becomes the official President of the UFSNC, and he has sworn the death of his predecessor shall not go unpunished.

  • New Statesmen Class Vessels Ready for Launch:

New Bedwyn, New Cyberia -- In an event scarred by the loss of their namesakes, the NCV Khillianov and NCV Naramov Ghetti VIII are ready to be launched later this week, the NCSA said today.

Originally a grand launching cermony with both honoured statesmen in attendance was planned, but the death of both men and the spiral towards war has meant the launch will be an extremely low-key affair, after which both vessels will sail north to join their sister ship, the NCV Hodak Teral, in the Groening Strait, in anticipation of a ground attack on the Rura Penthens.

  • President Baruk Unveils NCDF Reform Plan:

Reeding, New Cyberia -- Newly sworn-in President Baruk unveiled his vision of the New Cyberian Defense Forces today, in a plan that though ambitious would never have even been considered in more peaceful times.

In a shock move, the report was released publiclly to all nations on the PEEL Regional Website, at this location.

The plan effectively ends the NCDF, which has protected New Cyberia ever since it was accepted into the Planetary Economic and Environmental league. In it's place come three new forces; the Army of the New Cyberian States (ANCS), the Cyberian Naval Force (CNF) and the Cyberian Aeronautic and Space Defence Command (CASDC).

It also calls for a total revamp of all existing NCDF equipment, most of which, analysts speculate, will be performed outside the country.

Message from the New Cyberian Department of Trade:

If you read the report above you will notice several as yet undeveloped design specifications for new equipment for the NCDF. Our industrial base is quite small, and we would like to award contracts to other nations for development of these prototypes. A list of available contracts is below:

    ANCS:
  • The XA-232 (Medium Assault Mechanoid)
  • The XA-233 A/B/C (Heavy Assault Platform/Mobile Supply Depot/Strategic Command Centre)
  • The XA-234 (Light Infantry Transport Mechanoid (LITM))

CNF:
  • The XN-103 (Altron Class Assault Cruiser)
  • The XN-104 (Deity Class Mechanoid Carrier)

CASDC:
  • The XS-001 (Space Assault Fighter)
  • The XS-002 (Mechanoid Dropship 2nd Generation)

We're also going to need someone to supply the best personal weaponry to our forces. Contracts are negotiable, and we are open to reciprocal trade.

OOC:

Any feedback from New Salchara on the proposal to divide Capistan between them and the Empire of Slimmy?

The Nogotian arms industry is very confident that they are able to meet the New Cyberian requirements. We can offer you a huge selection of firearms and we think that it shouldn't be much of a problem to retool some of our factories, so that they could produce Mechanoids and Dropships.

After all, we are currently supplying not only the Nogotian Army with Mechs and Dropships and so far there has not been a single complaint regarding our products.

Our brand new Flagship was finally launched today. It was given the name Leila. which is unusual since not only is it the first Zedoljan ship to be ever named after a religious figure, but we've gone in at the deep end and named it after our chief Deity. Anyway, NSF Leila will set forth leading a ragtag fleet of either brand new ships or spare ones toward the Groening Strait where it will join up with the Milatov fleet. Two more fleets set forth a few days from now for North Spifflandian waters.

Currently the NAZ has two thinktanks studying combat tactics that could be used against unconventional foe, for instance the Rura Penthans but more particularily the Unimatrixians. Feeling slightly bewilderd they've named their first report "How to kill a Unimatrix Soldier (If You Can't Just Blow His Head Off)" and right now their only suggestion is "Slice their heads off?"
Social commentators are fearing the NAZ is about to raid the military history museums of Zedoljev as we charge into Unimatrix with swords and spears.
Rumours aboud of vastly more sinister alternatives to swords and spears being dreamt up by Zedljan scientists in direct "pay"* of the Politburo which has got the general population slightly worried.

*remember, Zedoljev doesn't believe in "Salaries"

[OOC]
In response to CK's last message in the previous thread - I would be more than happy. Give me a huge list of what you want done to the map and I'll do it for you  :) Did you get that reply I sent New Cyberia (I did get the message, but didn't realise for nearly a week...)

Yeah, Zed, I did get the message.  :D

If in addition to these maps you could send them along without the fancy border, that would be much appreciated.  :D

There may be a slight complication, as Richnya may collapse this evening (in which case I believe Nurdbotia will want the land).

Anyway:

Changes to be Made:

East New America:
  • No changes here.
West New America:
  • Split #48 (former Bloodia) in two to form two smaller empty territories.
New Asia:
  • Restore the border down the centre of Capistan (as in the older maps)
  • Merge the leftmost portion of Capistan with Slimmy
  • Merge the rightmost portion of Capistan with New Salchara
The Gnome Islands:
  • Merge Salchara with every other territory on their island except Testalicious and San Fredlando (see the website for what I mean).
  • Merge Cybrania with every territory on their island (again, see the website).
New Asia:
  • Merge Nurdbotia with Richnya (only do this if Richnya collapses)
  • Readjust Teral's border south a bit (see website)
  • Eliminate border between Nixorbania and SchadistanPEEL
  • Eliminate border between Nixorbania and their half of Badgermash (but leave Teral's half as it is).
  • Create some new islands inbetween Nogo-Nogo and Mikeyrawsville
  • Readjust borders of Dylsexia, West - Europa and Nogo-Nogo as per ZJ's map (I'll send it along to you - will the address you use to send to me be OK?)

Once again, thanks, Zed. I dunno what I'd do without you.  :p  ;)

I've always liked the american-ish jokes of Conan:

"McDonalds announced that it's coming out with a line of "Happy Meals" for adults. A spokesman said they'll be just like the kid's Happy Meals except the free toy will vibrate."

"President Bush spent the day at Camp David and said he was preparing for Hurricane Isabel by 'battening down the hatches.' Bush then admitted he's not sure what that phrase means, but he heard it once on Popeye."

@Gocad: The NCDT is intrigued by your proposal. Would you be able to handle the XA-232, the XA-233 and XA-234, in addition to the XS-002 in the quantities we require?

It is not simply a purchase order; we need assistance to develop the technology beyond our initial specification. We want our new equipment to be state-of-the-art, you see.

We would of course share any technological advances with our partner nations.

Okay?  :)

So, who gets the land? Nurdbotia asked first but that means Rixnya won't have anywhere to be, essentially.

Personal preference: Give the land to Nurdbotia, because I hate the size of the Richnyan territory. Meh, sort it out amongst yourselves.

Hasn't Nixorbania got several fallen nations in the last couple or weeks? Beside we want to point and laugh at the impudent Richnyan's who thought they'd outlive Nurdbotian Communism.

Or we could divide it up between us, as long as Nurdbotia gets a huge chunk of the North and the former Capital, I don't care what happens to the rest.

[Sid]An excellent point![/Sid]

It would form a more natural shape, and both Nurdbotia and Nixorbania have expanded significantly recently. The only problem would be where to put Rixnya.

There are two problems with Nurdy's plan, neither of which are huge, but I would prefer to find a different solution:

  • 1: That would in effect make an even smaller territory for Rixnya (and my objective is to eliminate all the small territories    :p).
  • 2: It's much easier to deal on the website in whole territories rather than half ones. (Because each territory has an assigned size, so changing the territories would require a re-calculation of all territory sizes (to ensure they remain proportional to each other).

Also: Giving Nixorbania and Nurdbotia a border?!? We'd have nuclear war within 3 weeks!   :p

By the way, Zed, do you see what I mean about a threat to regional security?  ;)

These not-so-small green creatures are called Orcs.[Warcraft style, not crappy LOTR style!]. There are several types of Orc's, all of which can be seen, Here. These horrifying creatures have allianced with "Tauren" and "Troll"'s, making their force incredibly powerful. These creatures appear to be hostile, and ready to fight. You Infidels! Forsaken Azeroth demands respect! We have picked a new leader, Cairne Bloodhoof, a tauren chieftan.
There are a few known clans on Azeroth, all of which have their own military division. The Blackrock clan, Dating back to the 2nd Orcish war, have strong military roots. Their armor is red. The Hellscream clan, new, since the 3rd war, are strong fighters. Their leader is Grom, blademaster. Then there is the Thrall Bloodline,a strong tribe of Trolls and Spellcasters. Their leader is Thrall, former Orcish leader. Lastly, there is the Tauren, the giant minotaur peoples. The Orcs took their alliance during the 3rd war, these lumbering beasts have incredible strength, and their leader is Cairne Bloodhoof. These clans together are the main army.

Nah just kidding - though, really, be nice and give some to Mayatland too    :)

/edit - or to Warcraft Land perhaps? Though personally I think they'd fit in nicely with that other weird bunch up north.  :p

@Zeej: All done. No problems at all, I have all the boundaries in layers so it's a simple case of rubbing out one bit and redrawing another (though several new islands for Nogo-Nogo was "fun"    ;) )    :) I'm waiting for it to be finalised (you say negotations are still going on?) plus when I'm satisfied Richnya is finally sorted out (Me and CK do have supreme authority about who gets which land technically - in a sense, since we kinda have the manopoly on the offical country locations these days)
That and I forgot to tranfer the Gnome Islands Regional Map from my computer upstairs so I need to do that too. Then, everything will be ready to be sent to CK and then bingo.    :)

I still think that giving the whole of Richnya to Mayatland is the best option. It's been a staple of the PEEL region pretty much since the beginning and it has not expanded one inch since it's inception. Both Nixorbania and Nurdbotia (Nurdbotia in particular) have expanded well beyond their original borders (and don't try that "Not-A-Puppet-Nation" argument with me  ;)).

I rather liked the older, "lighter" style (the one which more closely resembled the map Teral found which has become modern New Asia).

I think it would also be quite neat to have a map similar to the New Meritocracy one ( http://merit.jink.org/map01.jpg  ) where the sea borders are hidden and only the land borders are shown, with the territories shaded (just in addition to the textured map).

Oh, and the map is on the PEEL Regional Website ( cyberknight2003.netfirms.com ).
