So we've had an in-person meeting in New York and two in London.  How about a meeting in Toronto?  A Grand Canadian Idea???

We could do it in the winter when there's lots of indoor stuff to do, or wait until next summer when there's lots of great outdoor stuff to do?

Anybody interested?  Keep in mind that I'm old enough to by booze for underage PEELers  ;)

Thoughts, ideas, comments, etc are all welcome.

I think that's a nice idea. I like Canada and the people from there and if I would be there next year I would visit the AGCI, but it doesn't look like if that will hapen yet.

By the way, Id like to use this thread to announce that I'm planing a continental-European AGI.
People from anywhere else are invited too.
I thought about "Volkseigene Futuramaparty" (People's own Futuramaparty)  :D or so, (yes, I know, very communistic  :p), but other ideas are still welcome.
Since I'm planing it, I think I can say where it will be: Kassel, in the middle of Germany.
By-the-way: We have a beer-brewery here  ;)

Depends when. By some miracle, I may be able to go, if I could get a ride. Though if it's in winter, forgeddaboutit. I'm going to Florida after the holidays, then after that I have a big snowboard team trip. And on top of it all- I didn't make the NYC one, I dont think this'll be any better. Oh, when i get a car... ;)

Okay, VF there were two NYC meetings (1 and a half) - but there wasn't a general invitation to all PEELers for one so it still doesn't count to anyone except you :P (Yes I'm getting jealouserer by the minute, damn you).

Margie, never yell "I'm COMING" unless you really want to get teased about it.

Look at it this way, Toronto isn't all that far away from NYC and your American dollar is worth a fortune in the monopoly money we use up here.  With like $50USD you could own this city.

Most of the NYC gang could (should) car-pool it up here for the festivities.  I'd love to see the look on the boarder guard's face when you tell him you're just a bunch of nerds out to meet up with more fellow nerds to celebrate a dead cartoon show.

If that's the case perhaps I should shelve my plans to go to NYC and come to Toronto instead.  If the NYC Crew are gonna be there.

month doesn't really matter for me. i just want to do it as soon as possible. if we'll meet in downtown, for me it's just one bus and subway trip, so i don't really have to worry about tickets and stuff like that. ;)

I'd be down with Canadia. Toronto, specifically. But not in December, I'd need to plan it further ahead. Not to mention, driving north in December doesn't sound very appealing to me.

But yeah, if I was going, I could ship VF and Nix and Jeff up there, especially since I'll have a car that can actually fit that many people comfortably.

Toronto, Eh?  Interesting.  That's within striking distance.  I'll echo what others have said regarding a winter meeting: not good.  Driving in Cleveland during the winter is bad enough locally, making a trip to Toronto where the weather is just as bad would probably be a problem.

Sounds like we've got some actual interest in doing this thing once the weather is suitable to humans (i.e. not in the winter).  Maybe late spring, after University / College exams but before summer jobs get too busy.  Maybe the May "24 weekend" (actually May 22 to 24) - our Victoria Day long weekend.

Sorry Spice Weasel but this one's gonna be in Toronto.  I'd love to see Vancouver, but time, money and family prevent that from happening any time soon.  Feel free to organize something on the west coast if you want and, of course, you're welcome to head our way for AGCI.

Marg, I think the 5th in TMCs car was FemJesse.  I'm not sure Canada's ready for her, but bring her anyway.  We'll deal with the fallout later  ;)
