EDIT :  Metafox is using a Hermes avy! I'll have to stick with Dwight now  (Until i get my custom one)

LaVaLaDy - Did you use MSPaint?  If so, that's all I use too - MSPaint can't save GIFs very well - the colors usually come out bad, and there is no option for transparency. 

Just do what I do - use GIFFY to convert your BMPs to transparent GIFs.  You just have to run GIFFY once, then all you have to do is right click a bitmap to save it as a GIF with transparency.  Draw your 64x64 avatar with the background a color that isn't used anywhere else in the image, save it as a 24-bit BMP, then right click the BMP and choose Use GIFFY to convert to transparent GIF.

Rage Dump:  I'm surprised more people aren't using Hermes avatars.  He's a great character.  I actually like using him as an avatar - because when I see characters next to people's names I hear the character's voices saying the text in my head.  Hearing Hermes saying my text in his Jamaican accent is really great.

Well I just spent 10 hours getting all the avatars ready, and now it's 4:30 in the morning and PEEL's FTP is not working, so I can't finish.  I'm... so... happy.  (And by happy I mean cranky and tired, and by so I mean extremely). 

So if I see ANY complaining and moaning for the next 10 days, I'm directing everybody's avatar to a nice 500x500 picture of my middle fing... hey I think my logon just went through!

- 167 avatars were uploaded.
- 57 pool avatars were rejected.
- 7 custom avatars were rejected.

A pool avatar may have been rejected for any of the following reasons:
- Image size not equal to 64x64
- File size over 3.5KB
- Image not transparent
- Avatar subject not "facing" post (I'm not extremely anal about this)
- Poor image quality
- Non-unique avatar*

To explain about the rejected custom avatars, there were a few that were just because of a large file size, however there are some special cases as well.  alexvilagosh's custom avatar was rejected due to its false representation of an avatar that failed to load.  The 404image placeholder (also known as "the red x") is an eye-sore and I don't want to deal with people complaining that "such and such avatar never loads".  While it was a cute idea at first, it won't make it on the board.  LaVaLaDy's custom avatar was rejected due to the fact that it was hosted by Margarita, who insists on hosting everything on her PC, therefore it failed to load just like every other avatar she had posted (which contributed to the pool avatar rejection count aswell).  She did, however, have an html that was professionally hosted which had most of her avatars I believe, so some still made it.  Marge, re-post LaVaLaDy's avatar once you get yourself working, or just host it somewhere more stable.  Another case that stands out in my mind is a pool avatar from aslate that was just a flipped version of a previous avatar.  Verticle or horizontal axis changes do not count for a new avatar.

* Unique avatars are avatars that contain original, obscure or non-mainstream characters.
