Nice avy Juliet, but it looks a bit congested, or is it just me?  Just wait till some noob looks at the pool and sees that!

My first avatar! Tracing the scan was really difficult, but the end result was fun. Now, on to more avs.

Dah dah!
It's my very first avy, so feel free not to use it. I'll add it to the pool anyway.

I downloaded adobe photoshop 7, (mimicking all the cool people) but that tutorial is no help for me. I'm not even sure how to cut and paste using it. Can anyone help.

You made that from a scan, right? I think you need a better way of resizing the scan, that avy looks rather pixelated. Oh, and it should be 64x64, not 53x64.

I'd better make some more then...

I'm using photoshop 6 for everything. It's probably getting pixelated during the tracing stage.
Anyway, here's some more...

Just practicing. Feel free to add to pool.

Very nice avys everyone.

Here's one I just made of Fry with a wonderfully sly smile on his face:

It's from "Love and Rocket" where Bender and Fry are watching Amy wash the Planet Express ship in a bikini.

Very nice, Mercapto. Of course, I'm just sticking to the new episode for now, so here's the park ranger:

Drippy, click here for avys to add to the pool. All my other avy posts link to the same page.

I've got this Adobe Photoshop 7 and I'm trying to do something but that tutorial is moving a little too fast for me  :(. Is there any tutorials that just deal with what the buttons basically do? I think i could manage it then.

In photoshop 6, the inbuilt help is really good. It gives all the functions of all the buttons.
If I had to start from scratch, I wouldn't use Photoshop, its a proffesional tool. Paintshop Pro is probably more user friendly, and once you have the hang of that it's pretty easy to move on to Photoshop.

DanceCommander: No, Matt, trust me that it's a lot easier to use Photoshop than PSP. PSP likes to assume for you, which of course is never a good thing. Try re-doing your avatars with Photoshop, as their poses have potential but are just way too pixellated. I gave you the disc, now use it!   :p

I tried to use Photoshop for avys before, but my brain damn near exploded. So, I got PSP6 and used the scan tutorial, and I haven't regretted it since.

Anyway, here's the avatar I made for DC, so he can poke Travis for it to be customed for him.

Oh, and the below can be added to pool:

It sounds wrong... but it doesn't feel wrong. Pink Leela's hair looks purple-y, and Purple Leela's hair looks pink-y.

@ Dance Commander - When you save the avys as gifs, try giving the transparancy a tolerance of around 20, because that should get rid of the jagged edges.

Both from Spanish Fry, and both to Add to pool please       :)

The full size scans are in the general fan art topic...

I did this avy without realising Mercapto had already made a camping bender (sorry    :) ), but I could use some feedback on my avys, so I'll post it here anyway...

You just use the [img] tag to display it in your post. If you want it uploaded to the general pool, but "Add to pool" or similar in bold by it. If you want it as your own "custom" avy (that no one else can use), add "Upload to custom" (in bold) next to it.

Then eventually all the avys in this topic will be uploaded by a mod.

I'm pretty sure only avys that have something to do with Futurama can go into the general pool - but your custom avy can be as crazy as you want. There's some basic rules about size and transparancy in the avatar topic in "The Wish Void" section of the board.

Use the [img] tag? Well, first of all you have to upload the avy you've made to some webspace. You normally get some free with your ISP. If you don't, I'll be happy to host it - email me.

Once that's done, you need to display the avy, which is where the [img] tag comes in. Use it in the following way, replacing the brackets () with square brackets []:

All you need is a stylish cap to protect your precious head from the sun. Like so:

Trust me, it's doesn't get any more classy than that. Plus, if you ever go to a Danish restaurant for a cool refreshment, all you'll have to do is to point at your cap.  :)
