Think of this thread as the direct descendant of 'Photoshopping Peelers/Peelettes' and you'll be doing fine.

Post any of your graphical/musical/Flashical creations here for the rest of us to check out.

To get the ball rolling, here is an image I made recently as part of a larger poster-based project. All three elements of the pic were photographed by myself separately (ie the box, the trap and the 'victim') and composited in Photoshop. Tell me what you think.

Heh, shiny.
It's cool... who's the victim?
Plus, I think the shadow of the hand may be a little long, but otherwise, cool.

He's in one of my classes and was actually my second choice as model due to the first deciding to stay home and get stoned that day. I actually traced the shadows from the ones cast in real life on location, so it shouldn't be too inaccurate, plus I wanted to get it just going over the box.

I noticed that too, but I think there are two light sources in the picture (am I right?)
If one of them is placed behind the boy, and low as well, it would be quite correct.

Yeah, I used a fill light in addition to the main one, which was set a fair way back.

But enough about me...

I like the guy trapped in the mouse trap, but what does the box represent?  Is the box made of cheese?

Ninaka, I've listened to the rest of the Dusk song, very cool - still, will be interested to hear what you do with full (heavier) band.  Good work.      :)

In other news:  Those of you who've been living on Planet Zog for the last four months will fail to have noticed that I'm a drummer.  I'm currently in three bands, Red:Shift, Nerve Harvest and Ryan Shirlow & The Bloody Marys.

MP3's to sample:

Red:Shift MP3.com site recently updated with new track, "MFTNY" (from new EP "Black Ops" ).  Plus, there is this site with two other "Black Ops" tracks to download ("Servant" and "Captain Black" ) - all recorded on shoestring budgets (thanks very much to Fostex), but sound good nonetheless.

Ryan Shirlow & The Bloody Marys Mp3.com site - featuring all the songs about how my good insane irish friend Ryan got dumped by some girl (plus one other).  Ryan also produces most of the Red:Shift stuff.

There are Nerve Harvest MP3's which I've uploaded to MP3.com, but will have to wait for approval.

Plus, for those who've read my posts in the "Halloween" thread about the infamous and legendary EarthnoiZe (featuring my mad friend Bob "MC UnCageD" Murray) - I only ever played two gigs with this band, and - as you can tell by these live recordings, we were not that good - but it was a blast being in that band, for a while.  Both gigs were hilarious!

The box represents the empty promises with which the consumer is lured then trapped by. It's a comment on the advertising industry.

I think that, instead of an empty box, you should put some food in it. And, instead of an average guy, put an emaciated baby trapped in the cage. And call it "Advertising Killed My Baby!". And take it to the Modern Art thread.  :evillaugh:

Ok seems I'm running out of webspace to upload MP3s to. I've completed about 7 songs this year... And I wanted to put them up, but won't happen.

So Melllvar, if you want two other songs (one particularly heavy one - one of my favourites actually), I can email it to you later perhaps?

I'm going to have to put together a showreel anyway of all my work, so when that's done that'll be a 5 minute piece of work sampling everything. Maybe that'll be better for you guys  :p

Showreel actually sounds good (is it all of Dusk?).  If you wanted to email me that track that would be cool, but it would fill up my hotmail.  So I'll drop you mail later with my home email on it.

Ummm no my showreel wouldn't be all of Dusk work. It's of about 5 different artists I've worked with.

Got it, and I thank you.  Like it, very cool.  I always like bands/songs which go to double-time during the ride out - I do that often with Red:Shift, (if you listen to "MFTNY" - Band: "How shall we end this one?", Me: "Double-time!" ).  Cool.

In other news:

Nerve Harvest MP3's are up.  Recorded Live at Fibbers in York, there are three tracks, I reccommend "Dead Priest Day".  The gig we recorded this last week, I'm gonna add the MP3's from that gig when I get them.

Clicky the piccy

You'll notice that the guy with glasses (Matt Fraser) has been in all my bands (apart from my first one), he's the frontman for Red:Shift, guitarist for Nerve Harvest, Trumpet-player in The Bloody Marys, and used to play bass for EarthnoiZe - so, he's the real talented one here....

Well, a few of our PEELers have placed their photos on here... so it's time to show them the consequences.

Didn't have time to add a FOX logo, and yes, I know, it's a little rough, but some of us don't have fancy imaging programs.
