Ása B makes some really lovely pictures. She has an almost Disney look on some of her artwork. I love the one she drew of Fry and Leela doing the tango.

It was completely from Ása's imagination, but I like that about her work. She can shift between many styles. In this case she has a very sensual, romantic image of Fry and Leela like Finnish tango artists with the classical tango outfits and hairstyles. She has a lot of good stuff posted at Futurma Madhouse as well as a nice interview with her, too. I hope she is still posting.

Everyone has the right to an opinion. I think it does look like them given the typical Tango dance clothes and style which are not conventional . Granted, you would probably never expect to see Fry and Leela doing something like this but that is what makes it so fun because maybe there is a timeline where they could do this, especially because it has a romantic potential. Someone has to write the fan fiction where it could happen. I just have hats off to the artist because she is daring enough to try different styles. She does both Groening and her own style really well. Check it out, she does some clever stuff.

The fact that ASA B.'s stuff is archived on FM/TLZ adds to the importance of this comment:FM/TLZ needs funding to continue. Take a trip over there and click on the "PayPal" button. Give Leandro and company a few bucks to keep the site going. There are wonderous things archived over there; fan art. fan fics, e-cards, etc. It would be a horrible loss to the Futurama Universe to lose that site. I admit to having two very favorite fan fics over there: 1) Background Noise by Dave Vincent.

Dave has become something of a close friend via the internet. Atr this point it's unfinished but he has promised me that he will be tying up the ending towards the end of this year. Take a look at it: Caution: It's very long and in-depth, Dave doesn't spare the minute details that make this fic a notch better than even the best fics out there.
Read it and send an e-mail to him. Artists like feedback - it means a lot to them to know that others are getting some sort of enjoyment from their efforts.

This fic is also long, it manages to include all the characters and is so shippy it may leave the reader in a diabetic coma. It also shows sides of both Fry and Leela that have been hinted at in the series.
Alas, the writer is either lurking or has moved on. I have not been able to contact her over the past 3 years to compliment her on the fantastic fic. If we lose FM/TLZ, then things like these pieces of art from the Golden Age of Futurama may disappear into cyberspace, to never be seen again.

Regarding the tango picture above, I hold that for a work to qualify as Futurama-related, it should have at least a semblance of Futurama about it. Its representational content ought to be such that it is at least recognizable as having something whatsoever to do with the show and its characters.The same holds true for fiction as well as artwork.

Yea, if I honestly had any drawing talent, and the time to develop that talent, I would make my own pictures. On top of that, I also can't even write my own fanfic, but I do have some great idea's for some though, I think. Nethertheless, some of these may or may not have been posted before, but here you go anyway

Those are flat out beautiful! I love the Voices image and especially the "Wake Up"image- that one has some really gritty real life elements there. "The Sting" always had some elements that reminded me of a lovely old film called "Creator" where a goofy guy brought a girl he loved out of a coma by staying by her side constantly and talking to her, even though more logical people kept telling him he was an idiot for doing so. She did regain her senses while he broke down crying while trying to bring her back.

Talk about somebody who just disappeard - The Voices. I joined FM/TLZ in May of 2005, and in July, he requested all his art be taken down. Other than some of his pics spread out on foriegn websites, I wouldn't be aware of his tremendous talent. No insult to the other artists who submit work here, but he and FemJesse were the top of the mountain artists. quote:

There is a good ending to this one at least - she's still around but seems to have retired from Futurama writing. One person gave me info where she posted and after a little searching, I found her. She appreciated my 'shout-out' that her fic is something worth archiving for history. @ FordMustang: Once again, I must state that part of my undying hatred towards Benders Big Score has to do with totally ignoring the growth of Fry and Leela during season 4. The gist of BBS was that Fry "learned" the lesson that if he really loved Leela, he would love her enough to let her go. Sorry, it had already been done. His love for her was to the point that he sacrified his health and almost his life twice during season 4. You don't get more unselfish than that.

I remember when he first posted that picture... it quickly became my desktop for awhile. I'm a little upset that he requested everybody to take his art down, but I suspect he had his reasons. :sigh:
